タイトル曲は安野モヨコ原作のCX系アニメ「働きマン」のオープニングテーマで
ユニコーンの「働く男」のカバーとなっています。
ユニコーンの代表作のひとつである原曲がリリースされたのは1990年なので懐かしい…。
PUFFYが歌った今作はより元気な感じに仕上がっています。
カップリング２曲目「Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds」は可愛らしい曲で
３曲目「Don't Bring Me Down」はカッコイイロック調ナンバーでどこか懐かしさも感じます。
同じ曲ですがユニコーンの「働く男」とかなり印象は違っているのが面白い。
PUFFYが民生さんの曲をカバーするというのは“なるほど”とも思えますが新鮮な気も。
全体的にノリの良い一枚です。

　う〜ん。面白くナイ。「THE HIT PARADE」の時にも思ったが、PUFFYのカバーはいつももうひとひねり足りない。もともと歌唱力で聴かせる人たちではないですから、バックの演奏やらアレンジやらが重要になってくるわけですが、何かもの足りん。
　今回もユニコーンの曲っていうことで期待しましたが....。むしろ「大迷惑」のカバーをはちゃめちゃな展開でやって欲しかった。まあ、タイアップなんで無理か。2、3曲目もビートルズ＆ELOと、民生＆アンディ・スターマーの血肉ど真ん中なもんで更に期待したけど、こっちも同じくもの足りん。決して悪いわけではないんだけれど、もうちょっと頑張ってよって感じ。しかし、今回のシングル、プロデューサーやスタッフのクレジットがパッケージにまるでなし。民生＆アンディは関わっていないのか？
　とまあ、好き放題言ってきましたが、「THE HIT PARADE」以降、カバー曲も邦洋問わず結構たまってきたはずだから、カバー集パート2は出して欲しい気はしますな。
　ただ、個人的に作って欲しいPUFFYのカバー集は、ユニコーン＆民生曲をアンディ・スターマーがフルプロデュースした作品です。実現無理？

あのユニコーンのカバー働く男。
アニメの主題歌。
ユニコーンとはまた違ったパフィーが素敵。パフィーはどんなものでも上手にカバーしますね。
イラつくならユニコーンのを聴けば?
それとも、他のカバーしてほしかったアーティストのとこに書けば?
パフィー嫌いなのはわかるけど、嫌いならはなから聴かないはずでは?
