お盆休みに相応しくS.E.N.S.の「休み時間」を聴きました。何かしらホッとする音楽に触れていたいと思うのは無理ならぬことです。その点では、S.E.N.S.が残してきた膨大な音楽はどれもリスナーを癒してくれました。

S.E.N.S.の活動暦は、もうかれこれ20年近くなりますし、ドラマ、映画、CMのBGM等で活躍されていますので、流れている曲のタイトルは分からなくても聴いたことがある音楽は多いです。深浦昭彦さんと勝木ゆかりさんのユニットの創り出す音楽は透明で流れるような美しさが感じられます。アコースティックな音作りが魅力の一つでしょうし、声高に主張しない音楽だからこそ万人に愛される所以だと思います。

解説によりますと、「The Little Life」はめざましどようび制作映画「にゃんこ THE MOVIE」のメインテーマで、「明日の風」はドラマ「あすなろ白書」挿入曲、「Bright Day」はドラマ「青い鳥」挿入曲、「Lost Memory」は TVアニメ「xxxHOLiC」挿入曲、「Little Miracles 〜 Reverie」はT&Gハウスウェディング '06 CMソング、「Way Out」は映画「子宮の記憶」メインテーマ、「Rock the Heart」はドラマ「役者魂！」メインテーマとのこと。

リーフレットの表と裏の猫の写真が「休み時間」というコンセプトを如実に表わしていました。人生もどこかで休息が必要です。走り続けることは出来ません。休み時間が次の活動の源になることでしょう。そう言う意味においても本作品に触れることは心の栄養を得ることになると思います。
