ボーナス・トラックが１曲増えた再発盤が出ました。これからこのアルバムを買われる方はこちらの方がお得ですね。（値段も安いですし。）フェアーグラウンド・アトラクションの商業的成功は彼女の望むものではなかった事と、あまりにも完璧さを追求するあるメンバーとの対立などが、解散の原因だったようです。失意の中から立ち上がり、元メンバーのロイ・ドッズらと組みザ・パトロン・セインツ・オブ・インパーフェクション（不完全の守護聖人）を結成してレコーディングに望むのですが、その時のリラックスしたよい雰囲気と彼女の音楽に対する純粋な愛情がダイレクトに伝わってきます。「人は完全でないからこそ素晴らしい」というエディのメッセージが聞こえてきそうです。

とにかくヴォーカルは温かく、懐かしくもあり、時には気だるく、時には漂うように表現豊かです。本当に何回聴いても飽きないどころかどんどん好きになるアルバムです。中でも特に４曲目と１１曲目は何度聴いても感涙ものです。

「フェアグランド・アトラクション」よりも先に本作から聞いたのがも
う１０年以上前の話。今でもヘビーローテーションで家の中、車内で流
してる。

生涯ベスト１０アルバムの席は不動だな…きっと。殆どR&Bで占められ
るマイランキングの中で本作があるのは、ジャンル分けだとかクロスオ
ーヴァーといった言葉が陳腐に思えるくらい、ここにはただただひたす
ら絶対普遍的なMUSICしかないから…。

イギリスチャートで１位を獲得しこれからというバンドをいきなり解散
させた彼女…。この人にもっと欲があったら９０年代のジョニ・ミッチ
ェルになれたろうに、こうもナチュラルでニュートラルな本作を産み落
としてしまう彼女にとってそんなことはどうでもいいこと…。
レコード契約がなくなっても、街角でバスキング出来さえすれば私はそ
れで十分幸せという飾らない思いがいつもスピーカーから聞こえるようだ。
こういう人の作った音楽は信用できる。
