幾度となく繰り返される朝と夜のように、廻り続ける生と死の物語。其の狭間で現在を生きる者達の歓びと哀しみを綴った詩。
11の幻想曲が複雑に絡み合い紡がれる音の地平線。

2006年晩秋、物語組曲の開拓者-

幻想楽団【Sound Horizon】が満を持して世に放つ意欲作。生とは何か?死とは何か?
彼等が生きることの意味とは-

嗚呼...果たして其の世界に君が生まれるに足りる浪漫はあるのだろうか?

【アーティストについて】
領主こと、サウンドクリエーターのRevoが主宰するアーティスト集団であり、自ら[幻想楽団]と称してはいるが、既存の《楽団》とゆう考えとは意を異にする部分もある。
それは、幻想的な物語を音楽的に表現する為に相応しい楽団員を、その都度必要な人数集めて編成するという稀有なスタイルであり、歌い手/語り手の人数・性別も限定してはいない。
彼らの音楽を一言で言えば「物語音楽」という事になるが、アルバム1枚が小説や映画のように一つのテーマの物語になっているのが最大の特徴である。
彼らの作品のコンセプトの根幹には、生と死、表と裏、陰と陽、愛と憎しみ、喜びと悲しみといった二面性を持つ人間の根源に関する問い掛けがあり、聴き込む程に奥の深い内容となっている。

相変わらず賛否両論となっているSound Horizonの新作「Roman」。

前作「Elysion」は、ストーリーが一直線だったが、今作はオムニバス形式に近いストーリーとなっている。

また、今回はSound Horizonっぽくない、今回はSound Horizonらしい曲だ、との意見で分かれているが
それは逆にRevo氏の持つ音楽性の幅の広さを伺えると言う事実でもあると思う。

とあるサイトでのインタビュー動画でも、「自分の音楽性の方向がやっと見えてきた」と語っているのも、その事実を裏付けている。

メジャーデビューを果たし、まだ2年経つか経たないかの「Sound Horizon」。
ファンである我々が、まだ進化を遂げるSound Horizonに結論を見出すのは早すぎる。

"らしさ"を求めるのはまだ数年先の話として、今はただ一曲一曲の物語を堪能するだけで良いのではないのか。

今作では、私はSound Horizonが持つ"可能性"を充分に感じられたと思う。

aramaryさん脱退後の最初のＣＤという事で、不安と期待が入り混じりつつも拝聴・・・。
とても素晴らしいクオリティで満足できました。（aramaryさんの歌声で聞いてみたかった、という未練は残りますが）

ボーナストラックが２曲あるので、歌詞カードを良く読んでみてください。
１曲目は『１１文字の伝言』、２曲目は『黄昏の賢者』の歌詞を良く読むと現れるメッセージを『伝言』へ入力すると聞くことが出来るようになっています。

今回のCDは「まとまりが無い」などといった「不満」の声が多く見られますが
私は違和感を感じませんでした。
「Elysion」は全体が一つの物語としてどこかで繋がりがあったのでまとまっていないと変ですが、今回は一人一人の「Roman」なのでこのままでいいと思います。

Sound Horizonは１回や２回では無く５回６回聞いて歌を理解できると思うので、初めは好きでなくてもだんだん深みにはまれると思います。
