以前、某メーカーのオイルヒーターを所有していましたが、通電と同時に発生するタイマーのジリジリという音に悩まされて、
惜しいことに手放しました。（最近の商品では改善されているかもしれません。）
Kazのこの商品は静寂です。ときおりサーモスタットが作動する「コチッ」という、耳を近づけなければ確認できないくらいのかすかな音以外、無音です。
操作パネルが盛り上がっているのは、おそらく電子部品をフィンの発熱から少しでも遠ざけるためだと思われます。デザイン的には好みが別れるでしょう。
タイマーは設定時間後仁オンにする（オフを設定できない）シンプルなものですが、不便というほどではありません。
また常に室温が表示されるので、ドアの半開きなどによるすきま風に注意するようになりました。
全体に作りはがっしりしていて、長期の使用に耐えそうです。

オイルヒーター自体初めてだったので半信半疑で購入しましたが、その凄さにただただ驚くばかりです。８条ほどの部屋の隅において使用していますが、部屋全体を心地よい暖かさに暖めてくれるので、ハロゲンヒーター等のように熱源部とそれ以外で著しい温度差が生じるということもなく、エアコンのように空気が汚れて風邪をひいたりのどを痛めるということもありません。また、タイマーがついており、外から帰ってきて部屋を空けたときの心地よさはなんともいえません!!ヒーター自体それほど熱を持っていないので、可燃性の高いものをそばに置かない限り火災の心配はないでしょう。更に、消費電力の切り替えができるので、部屋が暖まるまでは１２００ｗで、その後８００ｗ・４００ｗと切り替えれば、電気代もそれほどかからないと思います。しいて短所を挙げるとすれば、電源を入れるたびに温度等の設定をしなおさないといけないところと、コタツ要らずなのでコタツにみかんが好きな人には少し物足りないかも!?

いままで、石油ファンヒーターを使用していましたが、喉が痛くなるので嫌な思いをしていました。石油を買いに行くのも面倒なので、思い切って買ってみました!思ってたよりもコンパクトで、部屋が小さくても置く場所に困らないと思いました。また、音も静かで暖かいです。
今年はコイツで頑張ってみます。
