   ロジテックが提案する次世代ストレージ「NEXAS(ネグアス)」シリーズの第一弾製品。「i-Dial」による様々な機能を提供する、高機能外付型HDユニット。IEEE1394とUSB 2.0 High-Speedの2種類のインターフェースに対応し、ディスク回転数:7200rpmのドライブを採用している。ドライブクーリングシステムを搭載し、セキュリティ対策を施した安心設計のHDユニット。WindowsとMacintoshに対応したマルチプラットフォームのHDユニットなので、使用環境を選ばない。PC電源連動機能，スリープモード対応と、使い勝手が良い機能を搭載している。

各種機能の実行が可能な「i-Dial(アイ-ダイヤル)」
   HDユニット本体のみで「パスワードロック」「ライトプロテクト」「サイレント」機能を実行可能で、OSを問わず高いセキュリティを提供する。

ドライブクーリングシステム「A.S.C SYSTEM」
 「エアフロー構造」「ヒートシンク搭載」「ドライブ温度監視機能搭載クーリングファン搭載」により、安定動作を実現する。

セキュリティ対策「Logitec Secure Projects」
 「Logitec Secure Projects」の導入により、データ漏洩を防止する。

フロントパネルに「i-Dial(アイ-ダイヤル)」を搭載し、パスワードロック等、各種機能の実行を可能とした高機能HDユニットです。ダイヤルボタン(左右回転+プッシュ)で操作し、LED表示部とアクセス表示ランプの組み合わせにより確認ができます。独自のドライブクーリングシステム「A.S.C SYSTEM(Active Safety Cooling SYSTEM)」を搭載し、徹底的にドライブ冷却にこだわったHDユニットです。安定動作を実現します。パソコンの電源ON/OFFに連動して、HDユニットの電源を自動的にON/OFFする「PC電源連動機能」を搭載しています。保証期間は「3年間」となっております。

Airmac extraｍeに接続して使っいますが、発熱は少なく、３年保証ということが納得できます。
非常に静かです。ＨＤＤはサムソン製のようですが心配はなさそうです。
少々値段は高いと思いますがかって損は無いでしょう。

3.0 out of 5 stars ファームウェアのバージョンアップ, 2007/11/30
現在このHDDには、電源連動機能が正常に作動せず、パソコン本体OFF後もファンが回りっぱなしになるというトラブルが確認されています。
メーカーへ本体を送付すれば、ファームウェアのバージョンアップを行なってくれます。
なお、このバージョンアップに伴い、新しい機能も追加されます。
