僕は、河島英五さんのことを亡くなってから知りました。
あるラジオ番組で、笑福亭鶴瓶さん(河島英五さんと仲が良かったそうです)が
「生きてりゃいいさ」を流したのです。
僕は、歌が終わるころには泣いていました。
「生きてりゃいいさ　生きてりゃいいさ　そうさ　生きてりゃいいのさ」そうなんですよね。
生きていれば、きっといいことがあるんですよね。河島さん、もっと早くあなたに会いたかった・・・。

この声はたまりません。独特のしゃがれ声が大好きです。
「時代おくれ」は珠玉の名曲
「時代おくれ」の男のように河島さん自身も憧れていたんだろうなぁと感慨に耽りながら、今は自分自身がハッキリと明確に目指す男像です。詩と曲が素晴らしい名曲。
私の親父はよく７野風僧を口ずさんでいました。調度私が二十歳のときに父は亡くなりましたがいい思い出です。
8も情景が目に浮かぶ詩が素晴らしい、四季を追う俳句のような詩。
詩の中に絵と音が感じられる。嫉妬するほどの才能を感じる詩です。

普段、邦楽は聞かないですがこれだけは別。

河島英五の"時代おくれ"
自分を見失った時に聞くといつも思います。
常にこんな男でありたいと。
