スチーム加湿器は「加湿器の性能」としては良い。清潔だし、メンテナンスは比較的は超音波式より簡単、特別な消耗部品も必要ない。部屋の温度は下げないし、加湿能力は非常に高い。反面、加湿しすぎると激しい結露の原因にはなる。一番の問題はランニングコスト。消費電力は310Wと非常に大きい。これは32型の液晶ワイドテレビを2台最大出力で使っている以上に電力を消費する。そのため各部屋に1づつ加湿器を設置したり、1日中使ったりすると電気代は馬鹿にはならない。本体価格は庶民向けだが、電力消費量はセレブ仕様。加湿器にはスチーム式の他に、超音波式、気化式、ハイブリッドなどがあるが、ハイブリッドはその名の通りにスチーム式と気化式を組み合わせたエコ加湿器。それぞれ一長一短があるので購入前に比べてみたら良いでしょう。

タンクから直接汲み上げるタイプなので、従来の加湿器のようにタンク周辺が汚れることがありません。
もちろん、スチーム式ですのでメイン部分の清掃は欠かせませんが、分解の必要はあるものの、お手入れしやすいと思います。
電源ケーブルがもう少し長ければ文句なしです。
造りがシンプルな分、安全性はイマイチなので、小さい子供のいる家庭にはあまりお薦めできません。

掃除も月1度でいいというし、水を入れるだけだし、こんなに楽チンなことはないです。めちゃくちゃ性能がいいわけではないですが、効果は充分です。ちょっと、朝方水量が足りずに困りますが、それくらいですね。
