インディーズ時代の曲が収録されていることにまず吃驚です。
コロムビアの商品として発売されることはないだろうと思っていました。
しかし、それならばインディーズ時代の楽曲を
すべて収録して発売することはできないのかと考えてしまいます。
インディーズ時代の楽曲を一部収録することによって
Midi:Netteの商品売り上げに繋がるとの計算の上で
収録を許可したのではないかとも感じます。

いつまでもファンをただの金づるだと考えるのはやめて欲しいものです。

当時のマリスのメンバーは既に別々の道を歩んでいるわけですし、
１０周年記念と言っても、誰が記念しているんだろう？と思います。
恐らくレコード会社がダシにしているだけでしょう。

既にCDを持っている旧来のファンは買うとは思えませんし、
これからマリスを知りたいっていう人にも断片のつぎ合わせのようでお勧めしたくはありません。
シングルコレクションならともかく…
マリスの音楽はそれぞれのアルバムにそれぞれのストーリー、世界観があるので、
ベスト版を作ることに意味を感じません。
メンバーと全く関係ない人間が勝手に曲を詰め込んだという印象しか受けないんですよ。

これからマリスを知りたいという方は、どれでもいいのでまずアルバムを手にとって欲しいです。
その上で、アルバムから漏れている曲をシングルコレクションから、
またはマキシを１枚ずつ買う、というのが当時のマリスに近づける確実な道ではないでしょうか。
マリスの関わらないマリスのCD、という気がします。

全く、いつまでどこまで金づるにするんだろうなと思えてきます。


最後になりましたが、曲それぞれクオリティは非常に高いです。
それだけに、ばらばらにされてあちこちからかき集めるようなやり方が好きになれないのです。

前回のシングルコレクションに続き、第2期MALICE MIZER(Gackt、Kamiが在籍してた時)のベストなんですが…
インディーズアルバム『Voyage』とメジャーアルバム『Merveilles』を合体させたものじゃないですか。これってベストと言える内容ではないです。第1期〜第3期までの選曲ならベストと言えるのですが、レコード会社の事情があって実際難しいと思います。両方持っているマリスファンは必要のないアルバムですが、新しいマリスファンや知らない方には入門編としてお薦めします。
