期待の若手ブルースギタリストの最新作。偉大なブルースマンとの競演したアルバムです。
前作でいままでのバリバリのブルースロックから、流行を意識したロックよりのアルバムを
出して「うん？って」感じになりかけた彼ですが、その反動か？自分のルーツを見直す様な
アコースティックブルースが基本の渋いアルバムを届けてくれました。まるで偉大なブルース
マン達に敬意を表すかの様に少し彼が前に出て来ていないのがやや不満ですが、全体の完成度
は充分に満足なものです。ブルースに年代も流行も関係ないと再認識します。時代を越えた
不滅の音がここにあります。是非ブルースファンはもちろん、ロックファンも聴いてみてください。
コイツにはやっぱりブルースが似合う！

　それぞれの曲で異なるブルースマンと共演しています。彼自身はボーカルをとらずギターに徹しています。
　前作「The Place You're in」では、ブルースの世界から外に一歩踏み出して新しい方向性を模索していた感がありましたが・・帰ってきました。しかも、これまでのどのアルバムよりも濃いブルースの匂いがぷんぷんします。サイコーです。
　強いて不満な点を挙げるとすれば、曲によっては彼の派手なギターソロが聞けないことでしょうか。アコースティックギターの曲も結構あります。それでも、例えばB.B.Kingと繰り広げるギター･バトルなど聞きどころは満載です。
　いずれにせよ、このアルバムで彼がもう1度ブルース・ギタリストとしてのスタンスを固めなおしたとすれば、多くのファンにとっては大歓迎の1枚でしょう。

　ケニーの現時点での最新作は、偉大なるブルースマン達をゲストに迎えた、バリバリのルーツ作。前作｢The Place You're In｣では、ロック寄りのアプローチで、自身のボーカルで勝負してきた彼だが、今作はギターに徹している。そして、やはり彼には、このスタイルがあっている。
　前作も悪くは無かった。いや、むしろ初めて聞いた時は、カッコイイロックアルバムだなぁと、そのレニー・クラビッツ風路線（？）へのイメチェンには好印象だった。ただねぇ、“愛聴盤”とはならなかったなぁ。隣の芝生は青く見えるのか、ジョニー・ラングなんかもそうなんだけど、ちょっとヒップホップのテイストを散りばめた“ロック“をやりたくなるのは、やはりまだ“若い”んだろうね。悪くはないんだけど、悪くはないんだけどさ、勝手かも知れないけど、ファンが期待するもんは、そこじゃないんだよね。

　今作は、｢うん、これこれ！｣って、思わず唸る、ケニーの才能を改めて実感できる、久々の快作だと言い切ってしまおう。そう、こんな、炎が出るようなギターが弾ける人、そんなにいないんだからさ、迷わず突き進んで欲しいんだけどなぁ・・・。
