The Odysseyから何と！？５年ぶりの作品ですね。毎度クオリティが高く
安心して楽しめる彼らの作品ですが今回は凄いですね。3rd並み、と言っても
過言で無いほどシーンに衝撃を与える可能性を秘めてます。
結論から言うと「かつての作品の集大成」ですね。
＃１〜＃２の流れは5thのオープニングを彷彿させましたが物語の幕開け的な
ドラマティックインストからOf Sins And Shadows系のシンフォニー節全開の疾走曲
に繋がる展開は鳥肌モノです。Sea of Liesの如くベースソロから始まる＃３も
ソロパートの目まぐるしい展開に思わずハッとしてしまいました。ハードな＃４も
バンドのモチベーションの高さを表してるようなテンションの高い楽曲ですし
ガラッと雰囲気の変わる＃５は感動さえ覚えるほど名バラードです。
ラッセル・アレンの表現力は衰えを知らないです。むしろ飛躍してますね。
＃６はハードポップ調です。ラジオでオンエアされそうなくらいキャッチーです。
＃７は暗く重い雰囲気の中に激しいソロバトルとボーカルの歌唱が聴けてただただ
圧巻。＃８は今作最良のナンバーかも？疾走プログレ・ネオクラシカルというのが適切
でしょうか？＃９はまた泣きのバラード。ダメ押しです。そして壮大な＃１０を迎え
幕を閉じる。

長文になってしまいましたが一曲一曲をこんなに語れるアルバムはそう無いです。
捨て曲、というか捨てパートすら無いんじゃないでしょうか？
個人的には大満足の一枚です。ラッセル・アレンの歌唱に、マイケルロメオは言わずもがな。
今回はリズム隊の活躍も光っていますし、ピネラも曲の随所随所で活躍してメンバー全員の
プレイが際立ってるのが良い方向に向かったのかな？と思います。
是非来日して日本でもアピールして欲しいですね。超長文化してしまいましたね。
ではここら辺で後は皆さんの感性で評価をしてください。。。

彼らの作品は、オリンポス･･以来ですが、ヘビィなリフになっていてビックリでした。

ただ、音・メロ・曲・演奏、全て密度の濃いデキあがりになっており、捨て曲や捨て瞬間が
ありません。彼らの流麗な音世界を存分に堪能できます。メロディアスな中にも、ドッシリ
と思い貫禄・ヘヴィネスが絶妙なバランスで共存しており、現代メロディアス・メタルの
最高峰に位置づけられる傑作ではないでしょうか。

尚、筆者は紙ジャケ仕様を購入しましたが、ＣＤのすぐ上が、非常にぐだぐだした見開き
ページになっており、出し入れがしにくいです。車を運転しながらＣＤを出し入れしようと
したら、事故ってしまいそうですので、ご注意ください。

評判が良かったので買ってみましたが、

よほどトワイライト・イン・オリンパスの方が良いですね。

まあギターフリークな人にはいいかもしれませんが・・・。

プログレ好きのわたしとしては他の楽器(キーボード)とユニゾンとかをもっと聞かせて欲しい
ところです。

全体としてはちょっとマンネリぎみな感じです。以後ロメオ以外のメンバーのメロディへの
貢献に期待したいところです。
