概要
フルスペックハイビジョン液晶テレビの最高機種（Xシリーズ)として導入する。デザイン＋フルHD/S-PVAパネル及び広色域バックライト（WCG-CCFL）採用＋高画質回路を搭載により、最高画質を実現した。
デザイナーのコメント
窓枠が情報が映す（ビジュアルウィンドウ）というコンセプトでデザインを進めました。ソニーが継承するフレームの透明感を生かしたフローティングデザインの進化版として、インテリアコンシャスなデザインからさらに一歩進み、ユーザーがお部屋のイメージにあわせてフロントのパーツの色を選べるモデルを提案しました。
審査委員のコメント
大型化するディスプレイを部屋に溶け込ませるため、ポリカーボネートを用いて透明感を演出したり、使用者の好みに合わせて色を変えられるフロントパネルを用意するなど、大型テレビに新しい価値を提供していると評価した。透明感のあるポリカーボネートのエッジは、アルミ押し出し材で囲われており、強度面での安心感を与えると同時に高級感も感じさせるなど、機能性と美観の両立に成功している。
