３rd「pull」で渋さが出てきて、ソロ転向後は自問自答を繰り返すかのような内省的な作風が続きましたので、キップウインガーの作る音楽は、よく言えば深みが出て、悪く言えば地味になってましたよね。2001年発表のベスト盤に新録された「On The Inside」が、もろにソロ路線の作風だったので、きっと、今回の再結成アルバムも大人なウインガーを聴かせるのだと思っていました。ところが、結構いいのです。静かに始まっても、暗いリフでも、サビでぐっと盛り上がる曲が多くて飽きさせません。例えは悪いですが、ヨーロッパの再結成で感じた肩透かし感はありませんでした。軽快な曲も入っていて、「ああ、ウインガーが帰ってきた」と実感できます。奇妙なコード進行の曲、複雑な展開を見せる曲もあって、なかなか聞きごたえがありますよ。ちゃんと国内盤を買って、日本公演を実現させたいですね。

Wingerは高校生の頃、1st、2ndを友達から紹介されてファンになりました。
非常にバラエティに富んだ、それでいてメロディラインの美しい楽曲を提供してくれる
素晴らしいバンドと認識しています。

今作はキップのソロが比較的ダークであった、The MOBもちょっと地味だったということから、
多大な期待は抱かずに聴いてみました。

皆様が書かれているように、1st、2ndの頃にあった煌びやかさには欠けますが、聴けば
聴くほどに味わいの出るスルメアルバムだと思います。
やはりメロディラインの引出しの多さはさすがです。

地味さについても、歌詞から察するに9.11以降の今のアメリカ社会が抱える暗鬱さや、
不安、社会の澱を反映した結果なのかなと（特に2、3、4曲目）。
全体として見てみると、3rdアルバムの延長として順当な作品を提供してくれたと思います。

それでもライヴでは昔の曲もやって欲しいなぁ。

復活作にしても80年代を知らない今の若年層とアノ時代を生身で感じたオヤジ世代、両者に拍手で受け入れられる作品でしょう。

安心して聴いてください、クイーンズライチ、ヨーロッパの失敗はありません。とにかく哀愁歌メロ+よく練られたリフは健在で40代になったメンバーの計算された曲作りが光ります。
1でアレっ今の時代っぽい?と感じますが2から3への流れなど絶妙。
7のバラードもいい出来、WSで2ndギタリスト扱いもなんのその、レブは自身の作品でコピーは光るがオリジナリティ無しのダグを軽〜く超越してしまったのであ〜る。
