　ロシアの作曲家の有名な管弦楽曲を7つ選んで収録したオムニバス盤です。
　多彩にして壮麗かつ情緒的な、有無を言わせぬ濃い演奏が多くて、理窟抜きにおもしろかった。アルバムとしてのまとまりは物足りないけれど。
　こういう作品を「通俗名曲」と呼んでおとしめるクラシック愛好家が昔からいますが、誰にでも親しみやすくて魅力的な音楽をあなどってはいけない、とおもう。
　オケの指揮者の内訳は、シノーポリが1曲、ヤルヴィが4曲、プレトニョフが2曲。一流どころが揃っているうえに、録音がすぐれている。
　ムソルグスキーの交響詩《はげ山の一夜》も奇怪な情景が浮かんできて凄みが感じられますが、チャイコフスキーの大序曲《1812年》は、曲のクライマックスで、祝砲が続けざまに炸裂するわ、教会の鐘が鳴りだすわ、もう大変な騒ぎになっていて、なかなかの聴きものです。
　この内容、この価格。特にクラシック音楽の初心者にはお買い得。

5.0 out of 5 stars 「ファンタジア」７曲目………その中に繰り広げられる恐怖に耐えられるか！？, 2008/10/13
　「ファンタジア」７曲目、「はげ山の一夜」！！これまでの６曲には想像もしなかった恐怖と悪が暴れまくっています。魔王による、恐怖と悪によって荒廃した光景。奪われる穏やかな平和。罪のない「全て」が、恐怖と悪に染まっていきます。もはや、その猛威は誰にも止められないと思ったその矢先に、教会の鐘の音………正義の力が、恐怖と悪を薄れさせ、消し去っていく瞬間です。

　「ファンタジア」では、７曲目に続いて８曲目の「アヴェ・マリア」に続いていきます。そこに描かれるのは、正義、そして穏やかな、平和を願い続ける心そのもの。

　次回はいよいよ最終回………「アヴェ・マリア」です。
