「ヴァイオリンの貴公子」と称されるミルシテイン。チャイコフスキーVN協奏曲と言えば、同門のハイフェッツが有名ですが、こちら（ミルシテイン）も是非お勧めしたい一枚です♪ハイフェッツ同様、傑出した超絶技巧の持ち主であるミルシテイン。でもそれを前面に押し出さず、むしろ歌心や美音を尊重する演奏スタイルをアピールしています。ミルシテインとウィーンフィルならでは！の優美さがマッチした素晴しい作品。実は最初、メンデルスゾーンのVN協奏曲を探していてこのCDを購入したのですが、結果としてはチャイコフスキーVN協奏曲のほうが気に入ってしまいました（笑）勿論、メンデルスゾーンのVN協奏曲もミルシテインならではの情感溢れる演奏が素敵だと思います。

一聴、2曲ともクールにスラスラ弾いてるように感じる。しかし、他の演奏と聴き比べてほしい。クールにスラスラ弾いてるように思えた演奏がいかに格調高く美しいかというのが、きっとわかるはず!それに気付くともう他の演奏は聴けない。聴いてもまたこの演奏に戻ってしまう。このような演奏こそが素晴らしい演奏というのだろう。アバドの指揮も特筆モノ!!何かと批判されることの多い彼だが、協奏曲はホントに素晴らしい。独奏者の美点を最高の形で引き出す事に関してははアバドの右に出る者はいないだろう。

初めてクラシックのCDを買ったのが本作品。事前に色々ヴァイオリン協奏曲を聞いていたけど、このジャケットに魅かれて買ってみたら、すごくいい！むしろ他のヴァイオリン協奏曲を聴けないくらい非の打ち所がない作品です。完璧すぎるミルシテインの技術と音色。チャイコフスキーも素晴らしい。しかし圧巻はメンデルスゾーンの協奏曲！さすが3大ヴァイオリン協奏曲と呼ばれるだけあります。まだ聴いていない方にすごくお勧めします！！
