　若きカール・ライスター（1937-）のクラリネットの高いテクニック、流麗な節回しが楽しめる一枚。同じベルリン・フィルの仲間たちとのモーツァルト（1965年５月録音）と、アマデウス弦楽四重奏団とのブラームス（1967年３月録音）の演奏。
　最初のモーツァルトも悪くなかったんだけれど、後半のブラームスが抜群によかった。第１ヴァイオリンのノーバート・ブレイニン以下、アマデウス弦楽四重奏団の凛として美しい弦の響き、味わい深いブラームスの音楽の表現にしびれました。当時30歳のライスターと丁々発止、互いに生きのいい音楽をほとばしらせ、奏でてゆく室内楽の醍醐味。情熱的で、申し分のないブラームスを堪能させてもらいましたよ。
　一方のモーツァルトの演奏は、ライスターが仲間をリードしていく雰囲気がありました。ベルリン・フィルハーモニー・ゾリステンの四人の弦楽器奏者の音楽が、ややかっちりとして硬い気がしたんですね。それとは対照的な、クラリネットのやわらかく、なめらかな旋律の歌い回し。もしかしたら意識的に、響きの硬軟を出していたのかもしれません。でも、音楽の懐（ふところ）の大きさと深みという点で、アマデウス弦楽四重奏団とのブラームスが断然、素晴らしかった！

モーツァルト全作品中でも完成度としては最高位に位置するこのクラリネット五重奏曲の録音でも、このカール・ライスター版は唯一無二の美しさを誇るものだと確信しています。
第二楽章の再現部におけるピアニッシモの美しさは、まさに天上の響きとしか言いようのないものです。

今回は、私が、アンサンブルでこの曲を演奏するため、イメージを高めるために購入しました。
クラリネットの澄んだ音と、高度なテクニックには、参考になるところが、たくさんあり、毎日聴いています。
