すばらしいです。頭が真っ白になるぐらい感動します。
オーケストラは堂々と揺るがず、合唱も、たとえようもないくらい美しい。
ベートーヴェンの第９はかなりもってますが、一番興奮するのはこのＣＤです。

とくに終楽章の盛り上がりようは半端じゃありません。
魂を揺さぶるような大合唱、これでもかというほど強音で伸ばされるフェルマータ。
そしてその後に、神のように美しいソロの掛け合いが、幾度も重なり合い、聴いている方は興奮しっぱなしです。

このＣＤがこの価格！！
買わなきゃダメでしょう。

指揮者もオケも独唱者たちも、えらく気合いの入った名演です。と言っても、奇をてらった癖のある演奏では決してありません。第九本来の音を内側から凄まじいエネルギーで再現した、という感じです。第1楽章のチェロの入りから、ただならぬ気配を感じ取れます。カラヤンのようなよそよそしさもありませんし、ベームのような「物足りなさ」もありません。フルトヴェングラーの１９５１年バイロイト盤とともに永遠の名盤でしょう。

バーンスタインとウィーンフィルの第九は、実は
1970年にベートーヴェン生誕２００周年に
演奏しており、映像にも残っている。
ただイベントがイベントのためか、
バーンスタインが自己流に展開している印象
があまりなく、演奏もどこか硬い印象を受けた。
それに対して、この第九は違う。
真面目さは同じだが、テンポといい解釈といい、
明らかにバーンスタイン流で展開している。

他の人と印象が違っているかもしれないが、
私が聴いた印象では、全集の他の曲
（第１番〜第８番）は、比較的、ウィーンフィルの
許容範囲内？で演奏を展開している印象があった。
しかし、ウィーンフィルがここまで積極的に
指揮者に絡んで演奏するのは珍しく
（概して指揮者が強引に引っ張るか、老人に優しいか、
マイペースで演奏する傾向がある）、
聴いていて非常に面白かった。

しかしこの第九は明らかに違う。最終楽章のテンポ
といい、ギリギリまでバーンスタインが引っ張っている。
しかしそれでも演奏が崩れないのは、それでもなお、
ウィーンフィルが蓄積された経験と技術をもって
積極的に絡んでいるためである。合唱もそのオケの展開に
後押しされ完璧な歌を展開している。

概して、この演奏はウィーンフィルを初めとする
メンバーだからこそなし得た演奏だと思う。
その結果、バーンスタインの数多くの演奏の中でも
名演奏になっており、いつまでも記憶に残ると思う。
