勢いと激情に任せた2ndまでは、時として露骨にXX風な要素が彼ら自身の
持つオリジナリティより前面に出てしまい、微笑ましさを感じさせる
部分も少なくなかった。
しかし、今作は過去2作を大きく上回ってメロディが非常に充実してます。
曲展開も自然でありながら印象的であり、あれだけ忙しく活動している中で、
これだけ充実したものを作り上げてくる能力の高さに対しては、もはや「期待の新人」
ではなく「頼りになる存在」へ確実に成長してきていることを実感しました。

AVENGED SEVEN FOLEDが GUNS 'N' ROSESの延長だとすれば、こちらはMETALLICA
的な役割を担うバンドだと思う。これからの展開が実に楽しみ。

デス声がなくなったらつまらない？うーん、あれは表現方法の一つであって、それだけ
でバンドを評価しちゃうのも何だかなあ、と思うんですがね。このバンドの醍醐味は、
偉大な先達の音を真っ向から受け継ぎながら、高い演奏能力と新しい世代の感性で魅力
ある新しいメタルサウンドを創造してくれる点にあるんだと思ってます。

文句なしにカッコイイ。
前作以上に充分満足させてくれる内容だった。
ただ“叫び”は圧倒的に減ったので、ここは賛否両論分かれるところか。
そこを期待して聴くと物足りないかも。
でも新しい物を取り入れる素直な気持ちで聴けば、実に聴けば聴くほどに
味の出てくるアルバムだと思う。

デス声→歌メロといったスタイルが形骸化したメタルコアへのひとつの回答とも取れるアルバム。前作以上にメタルコア的要素は減り、単にヘヴィなメタルといえる。良くも悪くも８０年代的要素をふんだんに取り入れ、若いリスナーには新鮮味、あるいは違和感を与えるかもしれない。
ヴォーカルの節回しはジェイムズ・ヘットフィールドそのもで、初期Metallica好きにはお勧めできる（まれに臭い歌メロが出てきて幻滅してしまうかもしれないが）。
A7Xあたりと違いチャラついた感じは無く硬派な印象も初期Metallicaとダブる。
さしずめ現代版L.A.メタルVSスラッシュメタルといった感じだろうか？！
まだまだ完成形には遠いが期待もこめて星４。
