19歳シンガーソングライターYUI。映画「タイヨウのうた」で初主演を果たした彼女が、季節外れの鎌倉で"あの夏"そして"彼女(薫)との日々"を思い浮かべながら「あれからの自分はどう変わったのか?」そんな気持ちを潮風にのせて、せつなくも素直に描いたオリジナルソング。映画をご覧になった方は特に、じんわり心に染み入る楽曲です。
初回限定盤のみ『I remember you』ビデオクリップ収録のDVD付。ビデオクリップの制作には、映画「タイヨウのうた」を手がけた小泉監督を迎え、鎌倉にて収録した美しい作品です。

“I remember you”というタイトルを公式サイトで見たときに、
最初に浮かんだ訳が“君を忘れない”でした。

タイヨウのうたを受けて生まれたというだけあって、詩の内容も関連するところがあります。
もちろんそれで考えてもいいのでしょうが、色々と解釈できるところがすごい。
私自身映画は見ていません(DVDは予約しました)が、それでも心を打たれました。
どこがいい、というよりは全体が素晴らしいのです。
冒頭からラストに至るまでの流れが洗練されていると言うか。
メロディーもコードも、当然詩の展開も。
さすがYUI、と言いたくなる作品です。
2曲目のCloudyも、独特のスピード感があっていい感じですね。

加えて特筆すべきはGood-bye daysのアコースティックver。
最初鳥肌が立ちました。声がすごい。
オリジナルのGood-bye daysと聞き比べても、驚くばかりです。
表現力が恐ろしく豊かになっています。ラストのサビが特に。
オリジナルのレコーディングは昨年10月頃のはず。
で今回のヴァージョンは7〜8月くらいと思われますので、その間10ヶ月。
この期間にこれほどの表現力を身につけてしまうとは、やはり只者ではないですね。

で、PVもまた素晴らしい。
これはもう見ていただくしかないでしょう。
演出も美しい。映像作品として申し分ない。
最高の作品に仕上がっています。

今思うと初回版買っておけばよかったです（泣）今更買おうにも初回版はあり得ない金額で売買されています。
曲の感想ですが聞いていると今までの思い出や出会った友だちが思い浮かんできます。とくに歌詞の影響のせいか夏の日の思い出が多く浮かんできます。GOOD BYE DAYSに次ぐ名曲といっても過言じゃないです。

今回の作品もYUIさんの素晴らしい歌声と「Good-bye days」などの素晴らしい名曲に肩を並べるほどの曲になってます。
またビデオクリップも映画を思い出しながら見ると、感動出来ました。

声が凄い。曲はさておきだ。この不安定さが魅力です。切なく力強い声してる。今、この状態が1番いい。歌が上手くなったら魅力は半減しますわ。たぶん。
