ハーンがパガニーニをやるということで、さぞかしバリバリ弾くんだろうと思っていました。
ところが、実に音楽を作っているなという感じで、歌い回し、節回しに余裕が感じられます。
パガニーニの一番ってこんなメロディアスな曲だったんだって。
"どんどんじゃかじゃか"だと思っていた曲のイメージが変ります。
技術を超えたところの高い次元の演奏でした。

オーケストラのサポートもハーンとベクトルが合っていて心地よいです。

パガニーニの方は超難曲といえども予想通り、ヒラリーハーンらしく暑苦しくなく甘くなりすぎず、爽やかに歌いきっていてさすが、という感じです。
　驚いたのがシュポアの方で、演奏で取り上げられることの少ないシュポアの協奏曲ですが、実はこんなに美しい音楽だったのか、と初めて気付かせられた演奏でした。特に３楽章は、軽やかでありつつも優美でとてもいいですね。ヒラリーハーンの生み出すクリアな音程と音質そして軽快なフレージング、もしかするとヒラリーハーンが弾いていなければ気付かなかったかもしれない、シュポアの8番と良い出会いをさせてもらいました。早速楽譜も買いに走るのだ！

パガニーニはフランチェスカッティやコーガンと並ぶトップクラスの演奏。
技巧のみに振り回されることなく、楽しんで演奏しているかのよう。
彼女の重音、スビッカートやハーモニックス奏法は一つの理想といえよう。
シュポアでは一転渋めにじっくりと歌い上げていて素敵だ。

評価は様々あるが、もう１枚持っている、スターンのパガニーニ協奏曲に比べれば、若々しいろくおんで、バックがそれをうまく引き立てていると思います。
