先ず一言、絶対見るべし。

この年は、ウィル・スミス主演の「インデペンデンス・デイ」、「ツイスター」、トム・クルーズ主演の「ミッション：インポッシブル」、同じくトム・クルーズで「ザ・エ−ジェント」、メル・ギブソン主演の「身代金」、ファミリー向けには「１０１」などなど、ヒット作目白押し。陰に隠れたのか、「白い嵐」なんて映画は数年前まで聞いたこともなかった。

この映画は素晴らしい、グレート。監督はリドリー・スコット、主演はジェフ・ブリッジス。ストーリー良し、演出良し、フィルミング良し、音楽良しで非の打ち所が無い。その上、セクシーな美少年テンコ盛り。

繰り返し見て、その度に元気が出て、感動して泣ける、そういう映画です。

尊敬できる船長。
友情。
アクシデント。
冒険。
そして、別れを告げる間もない突然の別れ・・・。

航海実習中のアメリカのヨットで、若者が経験する多くのこと。
これだけのことをこのわずかな時間に凝縮することができた素晴らしい映画でした。

中でも、当時、敵対関係にあったキューバの軍艦が臨検しようとして乗り込んで来て、彼らをキューバへ連れ去ろうとしたところへ、アメリカ第七艦隊の船影が現れるシーンは印象に残っています。
ヨットの船長が、「どうする？我が！第七艦隊はもう、君たちに気づいているぞ！」と言うと、キューバ兵たちは急に慌てて、彼らを開放して去っていく。腹いせに船長を銃で殴りながらも・・・。
（この「第七艦隊」の前に、「我が！」をつけるところがミソですね（笑）。）
これこそが、国民と軍とのあるべき姿だと思いました。

単なる感動ものというジャンルに収まらない映画。
感動ものと表現するのが一番いいかもだけど、ハラハラドキドキ感もあり、さまざまな要素の押し詰まった作品だと思う。男性にはかなりお勧め。
