殆どずっと笑いっぱなしです。けどコメディーではありません。
この映画には全てが詰まっています。
アメリカ映画の良さを見せつけられます。

高校生だった娘が、結婚し子供を持ち、
旦那の浮気を発見し、自分も浮気をし離婚し、
そしてある日ガンになり・・・・。

いち母親としてそれを友達のように見守り、
時に叱咤するシャーレーマクレーン。
隣に越してきた宇宙飛行士とのティーンのような恋。

たぶん、どこに出もある家庭のシーンだと思います。

だけど、母親と娘ってやはり特別。
あんなに手に負えない娘でも、娘は娘。
そして、孫もいる白髪の母親だけど女は女。

娘さんを持っている方、
娘の立場の方には是非見て欲しい作品です。
第56回アカデミー賞 作品賞にふさわしいです。
