これはなんて言うのか、
女性から見た"男"像というのが
かなり精密に描写されてる映画じゃないかと思います。
良い意味で少女マンガ的な男達が繰り広げる熱き闘いですね。

前半のサーフィン+青春のあたりは
氷点下の青春を送ったものとしては
観るのが辛くなるぐらい脆く暖かくて
ここらへんも女性監督ならではのものを感じました。

中盤からだんだん血なまぐさくなってくるのですが、
そこも非常にうまく切り取っていて、
特に強盗団の一人をキアヌが追いかけるシーンなんかは
今までで見た中でも抜群にうまく撮れていました。
その場面だけでも観る価値ありです。

ただ後半は少しグダってしまったかもしれません。
エンディングがあれ以外考えられない映画なので、
あそこに持って行くのに少し時間がかかってしまった感じです。
まぁでも全体的に非常にテンポがいいので、
たまたまそこだけ目立ったようなものでしょう。
大したマイナスにはならないですね。


しかしとにかく海が綺麗です。
日本にもこんな場所があれば良いのに。

強盗団の大統領キャラも好きです。

大体ハリウッドが作るサーフィン映画って期待ハズレが多いなか、この作品はサーフィンをする人間のスリルジャンキー的な所や本質的な所をイイ感じに出していてパトリックがメチャクチャ格好いいっす!

本当に夢中になれる物のためにならこんなにも命を燃やせるのかと、同じストリート育ちとして、初めて衝撃を受けた映画でした。 レンタルに並びだした頃、悪さばかりして高校を退学になり部活も出来なくなった自分は、何の為に生まれたのか悩んでる時、この映画に勇気をもらい、くじけそうな時、何度も観てきました。 善と悪、互いに対立する男達、仲間にはなれないけど、奥底にある情熱は同じと知る物同士、魂は互いに認め合っていく。題材はルパンと銭形の関係やデニーロのミッドナイトランのようで一生好きであろうテーマです。俺が選ぶ男臭い映画3本の中、常に入っています。
