4.0 out of 5 stars 短いながら演奏曲はヴァラエティに富み、ＢＧＶとしても軽く流せる, 2006/11/19
ビデオ発売されていた映像のＤＶＤ化ですが、５．１ｃｈによって音質が改善されています。また、収録曲を好きな曲順にアレンジして再生できる、プレイリストという機能が追加されています。ドイツのＴＶショーのために収録されたものであるため、特典インタビューではポール・ウェラーの声にドイツ語吹替えが被さりますが、解説シートに和訳が掲載されているので問題無いでしょう。（同席のミック・タルボットが、インタビュアーから無視された立場で所在無さげな様子が、ちょっと可笑しい。）

「オン・フィルム」という決定版ＤＶＤがありますが、もちろんそれには収録されていない映像で、87年3月ハノーバーにおける比較的小さめのステージでのライブ。そのＤＶＤには、２作目「アワ・フェイヴァリット…」発表後絶頂期にあたるアリーナでのライブや、４作目「コンフェッション・オブ…」の楽曲をＴＶ番組風のセットで演奏する映像（但し口パクと思われる）が含まれているので、その間の３作目「コスト・オブ・ラヴィング」期のライブ映像を埋める作品となります。

演奏される８曲はそれまでのアルバムからバランス良く選曲され、当時はお洒落と持て囃された曲調にありながら、やっぱりキープオン・バーニンなウェラーの熱いシャウトやギタープレイも楽しめると思います。着用している黄色いウィンドブレーカーは、プロモ映画「エルサレム」の教会シーンで着ていたものではないでしょうか。

彼はインタビューで、前作での成功を繰り返したいわけではないというようなことを語っており、早くも次のステップに移ろうとする旺盛な創作意欲と、Changing Manとしてのチャレンジ姿勢を明確に感じさせます。しかし、その後アルバム毎にスタイルを変えるやり方が破綻を来たしたように、逆に言えば迷いもあったのではないかと察します。個人的には、このミニライブにふとそんな過渡期な状態を感じました。

このスタカンライブＤＶＤ、輸入盤に日本発売用の解説書を付けたものですので、国内生産品ではありません。
中に、インタビュー映像があるのですが、字幕は英語でしか出てきませんから、何だかな〜です。
映像自体もそれほど綺麗とは言えませんが、ファンにはそれなりに楽しめる内容です。
コスト・オブ・ラビング発売後のスタカンなので、ドラムがスティーブ・ホワイトでないのが残念です。
収録曲も後期のものが多いので、既発のライブＤＶＤとあわせて、コレクションするといいでしょう。
輸入盤ですが、品物自体の質は高く満足いくものです。
インタビューが何しゃべってるのか分からないので、★４つとしておきます。
