『The Information』で、ベック・ハンセンは深刻にめいっている。2002年のフレッド・ニールを崇めた端的な『Sea Change』とよく似たサウンドだからではない。技術関係、その人間同士の交流への関わり方が、本作品で演奏される全体のコンセプトではないとしても根底にある。アートロックなフロイトのいう肛門性格であるナイジェル・グッドリッチを舵取り役にしてレコーディングした本作は、『Sea Change』からそれほど時間を置かずに製作が始まったが、ミスター・ハンセンが2005年の『Guero』をダスト・ブラザーズと製作する数年の間、棚上げされていた。驚くことではないが、この前2作の両方に少々似た音となっている。ミニマリストのポップ、ファジーなフォーク、機械音のホップ、ヒップホップ、バロックなサイケデリア、ファンキーなポップの装飾がこの愛すべき作品に見られる。ジャン・コクトーやデヴィッド・ボウイのように、ベックはどこからそしていつアーティストの力を借りるべきか知る最高の才能をもつ、芸術的なカメレオンだ。アルバム・ジャケットのアートワークは好きなように配置できるステッカーで構成されている。これはおそらくあなたのノスタルジック、あるいはレトロな「トラッパー・キーパー(ルーズリーフのバインダー)」の感覚からすると、やりすぎだろう。それでもある意味では感心させられ、今までに存在しなかったことが信じられないものではある。アートワークが飾るアルバム本体と同じだ。--Mike McGonigal

ナイジェルゴッドリッチをプロデューサーにむかえての今作。本人は違うと言ってますがかなりヒップホップな感じで初期ファンにはかなりうれしいかも。itunesMusicStoreでも扱っていますがこちらはDVDにジャケット自己作成用シールとあって、これはやはり現物を手にして楽しむのが正解ではないでしょうか(ちなみに国内版DVD付きは3885円、itunesMSのほうではビデオ付き2300円です)

　「Mellow Gold」や「Odelay」がめちゃめちゃ好き！でも「Midnite Vultures」や「Guero」
は正直詰まんない・・・「Sea Change」は、いいんだけど、やっぱり少しなあ・・・という
人には、超〜おすすめです！！９４年〜９７年くらいのローファイ？的な音楽や、８０年代ま
でのヒップホップが好きな人は、かなり気に入るのではないでしょうか？個人的には、久々に
ベックの楽曲を聴いて、ガッツポーズを取りました！！

自分はDVD付きのものを買いました。シールも付いててオススメかな。
全体としては、相変わらずって感じです。彼独特の世界観が盛りだくさんです。
でも個人的にはGUEROの方が好きかな。もう少し聞き込んでみようと思ってます。
DVDのBECK。やっぱりお洒落です。格好良いです。
