以前のナグルファーが好きな私にはとてもしっくりくる作品でした。
これからはナグルファーではなく、プロファンディの新作を買っていこうと思います。

元NAGLFARのヴォーカル、イェンス・ライデンによる一人ブラックメタル・プロジェクト。イェンスのソロ作というと、かつてDEAD SILENT SLUMBER名義で出したアルバムが1枚あったが、このアルバムもあれと同系統のシンフォニック・ブラックである。しかしこのPROFUNDIでは、DEAD SILENT SLUMBERのときのようにスローな曲を入れてゴシック風味を演出するようなことはせず、開き直ったようにほとんどが疾走パートで構成されている。荘厳なキーボードが各所に効果的に使われてはいるが、基本はあくまでファスト、優雅さではなく不穏さのみを付け加える働きをしている。もろにNAGLFARとも通じる音楽性であり（NAGLFARをドラマティックにしたらこんな感じか）、そこにイェンスの激情ヴォーカルが再び炸裂する様が聴けるのはまったく最高、やはり漲る気迫は今のNAGLFARを余裕で超えている。NAGLFARがイェンス脱退とともに失った悲壮なメロディ・センスがここに受け継がれているというのも素晴らしい。

グラフィックの勉強をするといってNAGLFARを脱退したイェンス・ライデンがPROFUNDI名義で発表したソロ作品。一人ブラックと聞くと「なんだかな〜」といったネガティブな印象をついつい抱くのだが、本作も例外なく抱いており、購入するまで少し時間を要したが、やはり、あのイェンス・ライデンの作品となると、「買って正解。聴いて納得。」というものであった。作詞・作曲は勿論、演奏まで一人で手掛け、更にジャケットのアートワークまでもやってしまうのには驚いた。作詞・作曲はNAGLFAR時代から定評のあるものだったが、楽器の演奏も素晴らしく、打ち込みであるもののドラムのフィルパターンなど目（耳）を見張るものがある。贅沢を言うなれば、そのドラム（金物系）の音をもう少し気を配ってもらえれば（ホンに些細なことだが）言うことなしなのだが。
楽曲面は、もう．．．、NAGLFAR直系の悲壮感を携えながら爆走するBLACKMETALで、とんでもないブラスト（汗）からヘッドバングしやすいMETAL曲もあり、聴き応えのあるものになっている。イェンス脱退後のNAGLFARを聴いていないので、今のNAGLFARに無いものが本作にあるのかどうか分からないが、本作が素晴らしい作品であることは間違いない。
