タイトルソングはじめ、ビートルズの「デイトリッパー」などカバー曲が殆どですが、アレンジが良く、カバー曲の見本と言えるでしょう。完全にセルジオメンデスミュージックに昇華され、オリジナルよりリズムがハッキリしている分、「こっちの方が良い」と感じる位である。私は、ビートルズより先にこちらを聴きました。オリジナルも良いですが、私にはこちらの方がリズムがタイトな分、格好良くきこえます。当時のＬＰに良い音質で入れるため、演奏時間は短めです。ＬＰ時代はそのため、音の良さが評判でした。

　「マシュ・ケ・ナーダ」の名前を知らなくても、この曲を聴いたことのある人は多いはず。私もそうでした。

　アントニオ・カルロス・ジョビンの曲も幾つか入っていますし、ジャンルとしてはボサノヴァに属するようですが、普通のボサノヴァとは趣が異なります。
　ジョビンのボサノヴァを聴くと、暑い日でも涼しい風が吹いてくるような感じがしますが、セルジオメンデスのアルバムはそれとは少し趣が異なります。
　涼しい風ではなくラテンの熱さが伝わってきます。むしろ快い汗をかく感じです。女性ボーカルをフィーチャーしておりますが、とても色っぽいです。

　いつものジャズ喫茶に行ったら、なんとも雰囲気のあるヴォーカルが流れていました。「これ、誰ですか？」とマスターに尋ねたら、「女性ヴォーカルが入ってるけど、アルバムはセルジオ・メンデス」。「なんとも雰囲気ありますねー」、「そうでしょー」てな会話を交わして2〜3日後にはAmzonで検索して、評価が最も高そうで、NIKEのCMでもおなじみの「マシュ・ケ・ナーダ」が入っているということで、このアルバムを買いました。「おいしい水」、「ワン・ノート・サンバ」など、ポピュラーな曲が多く、また演奏もゴージャスでかっこいい。
　ジャズ喫茶に寄って、「この前聴いたのが良かったので、これ、買ってきました」とマスターに見せたら、「あぁ、それが、一番いいですね、最高作ですよ」とのこと。選球眼をマスターに誉めてもらったみたいで、嬉しかったです。
　選曲やアルバムとしての完成度は高く、買って損なし、です。
