「『MOON OVER the ROSEBUD』とどっち買おうかな〜
まずシングルかな〜
いや、どうせアルバムにもこの曲入ってるみたいだし、
DubMixとか書いてあるけど大体曲の感じはわかるだろ。とりあえずアルバム買うか」
と思ってるあなた！
迷わずいっぺんに買いましょう。
先にアルバム買ってもどうせ翌日レコード店（CDショップか…）に
足運ぶだけです。
アルバムバージョンではこの曲はわかりません。

久しぶりにムーンライダーズで泣きたい人へ。
つい「レコード屋」って言ってしまう人へ。
その昔、LP発売前に700円でシングル買ってた人へ。
その昔、LP予約してポスターもらってた人へ。

「マニアの受難」DVDの予告編もCD-Extraで入ってます！
（僕のPCじゃ見られなかったけど…）
あ、一応曲調は、まあアコースティックで、帯には｢E.L.O.×BEATLES÷XTC=MOONRIDERS｣
とか書いてありますが、もうそんなのどうでもいいって感じのサウンドです。
いいです。

私自身は、春の日比谷野音で“客出し兼予告”用に低く流れているのを耳にしていたので、こういう曲がある事は知っていました。
だから逆に、いきなりＣＤなどできちんと聴いた人が羨ましいです。
これをアルバムに入れてくれないところが、本当に意地悪です。

普通“ベタ”って、“平凡”とか“ありきたり”と紙一重ですよね。
逆に言うと“ベタなもの”って、そうとう自信がないと作れない筈なんです。
だから普通はもっと力込めたり、テンション上げたり、切なくしたり、余韻残したりします。
そんな事全然しないもん、この人達。
たぶん、そうしなくてもじゅうぶん自信を持ってるから。
慶一さんの声、良明さんの曲、イトイさんの詞、合いの手みたいなユニゾン、そしていつも通りの、音作りのきめ細やかさ。
ムーンライダーズの本領が存分に発揮された、しかもベタベタの名曲です。
個人的には｢くれない埠頭｣を超えたとさえ思っております(笑)。

　そりゃ、「ムーン・オーヴァー・ザ・ローズバッド」を聴けば欲しくなりますよ。
　ノスタルジアを感じる作品。曲も詩も、ジャケットも・・・全て◎。

糸井氏の詞にメンバー全員で曲付けて白井曲が選ばれたらしいですが、どーせなら他メンバーの作品もリリースして欲しいです。個人的に最近の白井曲はどうも苦手です。
