「フォァ＆モア」（スリリング！）と同じ1964年2月12日の録音で、こっちには主にスタンダード曲のバラード演奏が収められています。
静かな曲でもマイルスの音数の多い（？）プレイが存分に楽しめます。

1962年2月12日、ニューヨーク、リンカーン・センターのフィルハーモニック･ホールにてライヴ録音。この後、5ヶ月後1964年7月、日本で行われた『世界ジョズ・フェスティバル』において日本のファンはマイルス・デイビス･クインテットを初めて生で聴くことになる。『Four & More』も同日の演奏として知られている。

このアルバムは、ジョージ・コールマンに対する不満が常にマイルスの頭の片隅にあるように思える。やはり、ジョン・コルトレーンの後をやるというのは大変なことだ。代わりなどいるわけがない。マイルスは常にメンバーに言い続けた。『常に新しい方法で表現しろ。』これをこなし続けられる面子しか彼のバンドには残れない。

逆に言うと残りの3人のプレイは合格点だったことが分かる。ロン・カーターは27才、ハービー・ハンコックは24才、ドラムのトニー・ウイリアムスはなんと18才だった。怪物たちの誕生の瞬間を聴くようなアルバムである。

１９５６年に吹き込まれたマイ・ファニー・ヴァレンタインは、ガーランドのラブリーなピアノに乗ってミュートプレイを聴かせていましたが、こちらのマイ・ファニー・ヴァレンタインは、大都会の孤独を思わせるハンコックのピアノとマイルスのオープンプレイです。かっ飛びライブの「フォア・アンド・モア」と同日の録音ですが、こちらはひたすら孤独の淵に沈んでいくライブです。どちらも聴くのに気合いがいるという点では共通していますね
