イエスが「海洋地形学の物語」を発表して、リックは脱退、作品の方向性もちょっとしんどいぞ・・そうした時期、キーボード担当としてメンバーになったパトリック。唯一のイエス参加作になった「リレイヤー」はやれ「難解」だ、「複雑」だといわれ、息抜きに？各メンバーがソロ作を発表し始めた時期にパトリックがだしたソロ作品が「Ｉ］。流麗なリックのプレイとは違い、硬質かつヴァラエティな音質を持つプレイは必聴。正直言えば　この時期でたイエスのメンバーのソロ作品で面白かったのはパトリックのもの（クリスのもなかなか力が入っていて良かったけど）だった。絶妙なブラジリアン・テイスト、コンセプチュアルといいながらも　それに捉われていないおおらかな展開。今でこそ珍しくないけれど　当時はなかなか新鮮でした。余裕がある方は1度お聞きになる事をお勧めします。でも　今ごろボートラかあ・・あざといな。

イエス在籍中の１９７６年３月に発表されたパトリック・モラーツの記念すべきファースト・ソロ・アルバム。
ブラジル色というかラテン系の楽曲が大半を占め、スイス人の彼からは想像し難い内容が聴く者を驚かせる。
彼オリジナルの「ストーリー・オブ・I（アイ）」という物語がベースとなっているコンセプト・アルバムだが、細部にわたりよく練られており最後まで一気に聴かせるだけのパワーを持つ。
間違いなくイエス加入の影響が散見され、アレンジの繊細さは半端ではない。
そもそもパトリック・モラーツは、キース・エマーソンが抜けて解散状態となっていたナイスの元メンバーと組んだバンド「レフュジー」を成功させ、それがもとで当時絶大な人気を誇っていたイエスに引き抜かれるという経歴を持つ。
換言すれば、キース・エマーソンとリック・ウェイクマンという大御所の後任を見事にこなしたことになり、その実力は折り紙付きである。
このソロ・アルバムの成功は、イエス脱退の後押しとなり、この作品が発表された年の１１月に彼はイエスを去っている。
そういった背景から見ても、この作品がいかに高い水準に位置しているかが解る。
間違いなく必聴の１枚だ。
