藤原基央、BUMP OF CHICKENの中心メンバーであり、類まれなる才能を持ったソングライター・コンポーザーでもある彼が手がけたのは前作AL『ユグドラシル』収録曲の「ギルド」に着想を得た人形劇。
ゲーム「TALES OF THE ABYSS」の主題歌楽曲「カルマ」の発表に続き、ゲームの世界観を体現したサウンドトラック『SONG FOR TALES OF THE ABYSS MOTOO FUJIWARA』のリリースと、我々の期待を超える作品を生み出してきた彼が選んだ題材は「生きる」という日常を強く暖かい眼差しで正面から見つめた傑作「ギルド」。アルバム『ユグドラシル』収録楽曲の中でも高い評価を得ていたこの楽曲が、今度は人形劇としてどのような姿を現すのか。
原作・脚本は藤原基央、監督はBUMP OF CHICKENのPVディレクターとして強力タッグを組み続けている番場秀一。「TALES OF THE ABYSS」に引き続き、劇中のBGMは藤原基央が作曲し、BUMP OF CHICKENが演奏しており、また、劇中のキャラクター設定、台詞の内容、入れ方まで全てにクリエイター藤原基央の意思が通った作品。タッグを組む番場氏との綿密なやり取りにより完成したのは「映像と音楽と文字だけによる無声映像作品」。BUMP OF CHICKENとしての必然ともいえるこの作品形態は他に類を見ない作品として観る者の心を震わせるだろう。

幼い頃に見た絵本のように王道、悪く言えばありきたりな内容。
音と字幕と人形の動きのみで綴られる物語は優しい。
バンプファンならキャラ紹介での茶目っ気にクスリと出来るはず。

個人的には非常に好きですが、ライトなファンからしてみると2500円の価値はないかも知れない。内容25分くらいなので大体1分100円くらいです。

ギルドは好きでも嫌いでもなかったのですが、このＤＶＤを見て自分内ランキングがあがりました（笑）
最高！とも特に思わなかったけれど、損したなぁとも思わなかったので☆4つ。

本編の後にあるバンプメンバーの物語解説はちょっと面白かったです。

私はこの作品を見てとても感動したし、考えさせられました。
どこにでもありそうな話です。でも、そこから一人一人違うことを
感じ取り、そして考えるんだと思います。
私は、この作品を観て「何のために働くのか」を深く考えました。
最後の場面で、マンナズさんにベルカナの音が伝わったのは、
二人がお互いを理解して信じていたから、伝わったんだと思います。

これからこの作品を見る人には、「みんなが良いと言っていた」からなどの
先入観なく、ただ純粋に心を見つめるために見てほしいです。
きっと、自分に足りないものが見えてきます。

ストーリーはありがちで、表現はシンプル、しかも出てくるのは人形で、無声字幕でお話が進む。それなのに、こんなに泣けるなんて!!自分で泣いてるのが不思議なくらいでした。

「悲しい」とも「幸せ」とも違う、胸が締め付けられるような、でも決して嫌な感じではない純粋な感動に、映像が流れている間中泣きっぱなしでした。

自分は特別BUMPのファンってわけではなく、ラジオで「ギルド」の楽曲が流れて、それがとても良く、DVDも面白そうだなとCDユグドラシルとセットで購入。あまりの良さにBUMPに完全にハマリました。
