5.0 out of 5 stars 時代を超えたサスペンス映画, 2008/5/16
サスペンス映画として、この作品は全く時代を超えている。
ほんの少しの揺れでも爆発するニトログリセリンを大量に
乗せて走るトラック。
行く手に立ちはだかる危機の連続。
一人また一人と爆発の犠牲になるなかで、ゴールに無事
たどりつけるものはいるのか。

監督のアンリ＝ジョルジュ・クルーゾーは、前半の出発前の
描写はじっくり丁寧に、後半の決死行は息つかせる暇もない
ほど緊迫したテンポでイヴ・モンタン達を追っていく。
驚いたのはラストシーン。
これにはあっけに取られた。
見事なフレンチ風味のオチ。
日本映画には求められない乾きがあります。

　前半の出発前の描写が長く、ここで飽きてしまうとこの作品は受け入れられないでしょう。しかし、この前半の描写がないと、何故、彼らが命をかけてまでトラックを運転し現金を得て、今の環境から逃れたいのかがわからないでしょうから辛抱して見ることをお勧めします。
　ニトロを積んだトラックで油田を目指す後半のサスペンスは凄い。緊張の連続で、トタン板の高速走行、古い橋の場面、岩の爆破、石油の池の場面などなど次から次へとピンチが続きますが、私が最も印象的だったのは紙巻タバコが爆風で吹き飛んで先行のトラックの悲劇を知る場面です。ラストの悲劇的な終わり方も強烈な余韻を残す。
　後年ウィリアム・フリードキン監督のリメイクでの最後は違ってました。フリードキンのリメイク全体的には凡作に終わりましたが、つり橋を渡る名シーンもあり、こちらはＤＶＤが発売されていないが、機会があれば、もう一度見てみたい。

南米の油田で発生した大火災を消火するため、イヴ・モンタンを含む４人の男達が
ニトログリセリンをトラックで運ぶというストーリーはすごく簡単です。
しかし、積荷がニトログリセリンであり、
当時のトラックはとてもクッションが良いとは言えない。
まして山道あり沼ありと道路は最悪。
もう危険がいっぱいの臭いが整いましたね。
いやー、人物模写もしっかりしているし見事なサスペンス作品です。
今は他界した映画好きだった私の父親が好きな作品ベスト３に入ると言っていたことを思い出します。
