謎のブレイクビーツ・マエストロ集団A.Y.B.フォースの中心メンバーの1人で、
NY在住のブルジュンがリリースしたソロデビューアルバムにしてインスト・ブレイクビーツ集。
A.Y.B.フォースの『ロスト・ブレイクス』が好きな人は間違いなく気に入る。
あるいは、最近のラップ主体のヒップホップにうんざりしている人にお勧めしたい1枚。

内容的にはソウル、ディスコ、ジャズ、ファンク、ラテン、ボッサ等の膨大な音源の中から
掘り起こされたレアネタを解体／再構成し、ファットなビートに乗せるといった具合。
どうやら"サンプリング"にこだわりがあるらしく、アルバム通して純粋なインストゥルメンタルで
勝負している。では、ラップ抜きだからヒップホップではないのか？と思った人もいるだろう。
いや、大丈夫。ヒップホップ。というか、そもそもこれが本来のヒップホップのスタイルである。

巷ではとにかく人気MCをフィーチャーして商業的に儲けようとする傾向があるが、聴けたものではない
ものもちらほら。実際に本作を聞くとインストのみでも充分通用することが分かるので、必ずしも
ラップをかます必要のないことに気づく。いずれにせよ、この状況の中であくまでインストで勝負
しようとするブルジュンは存在価値が大きく、もっと評価されて然るべきアーティストの1人だと思う。
