コンサート本編は、1971〜6年録音のポリーニ演奏のストラヴィンスキー、プロコフィエフ、ウェーベルン、ブーレーズ曲集を彷彿させるんですが、何度も聴いとると”Radiance”や”Always Let Me Go”のようなグイグイ来るもんがない。プロコフィエフ風の乾いたリズムや音色で、スタティックな曲だからと思いますが、ここは好みによりましょう。

CD1枚めの3曲めは、「パリ・コンサート」の儚く哀しいフレーズをさらにスローテンポにしたような曲。CD2枚めの2曲めは「宝島」風に始まるが、Let It Beのコード進行をもじっているようでもある。続いて「サンベア」風、クールジャズ風、中近東風バルカローレとコンサートは進みますが、往年の傑作に較べると、小粒の印象はぬぐえず。

ところが、どうしたことなんでしょう？アンコールになると、急に音が純化されて、解き放たれた魚のように生き生きして聞こえてくるのはこれ如何に？The Good Americaは同時テロの犠牲者や関係者に聴かせたい。しがないワテも勇気づけられました。My Songは、お子さんが生まれた喜びを表した曲だったかと思いますが、大きくなったお子様とご一緒に、さらに純化されたいとおしみを感じる。思うにキースはトリオで録音のあるBlame It on My Youthを”Melody at Night with You”でソロで入れなおして、やはり精神的に純化された演奏をされとる。明るく、純朴で優しい心根が伝わります。Time on My Handsは、スタンダード曲を、懐かしく暖かく演奏し、コンサートの終わりに余りに粋なとりあわせ。

来日コンサートに例えると、本編が150回コンサート（上野、DVDになってるやつ）、アンコールが151回コンサート（池袋、ロマンチックやった）に似ています

2005年9月に行われたピアノソロコンサート。ジャケットの帯に完全収録とあるが、ディスク1〜2とも曲間など全くカットがない収録と思われる。
現代音楽を思わせるスタートは８分音符の連打がモチーフとなり展開されていく。前半からパート７までは殆どトーナル(和法)から離脱していて拍子も不鮮明な分、最初少し面食らってしまったが、やはりキース･ジャレットの冷たい氷を叩いたような鮮やかなタッチとスケールの大きな音楽は健在なのでとても心地よい。そして過去のソロコンサートで聴いてきたキース･ジャレットとはまた違った一面が味わえ、このジャンルを超えたピアニストがまた新境地を開いたかのような感動を覚える。
パート７はカントリー風のアレンジで、コード進行がビートルズのLet It Beと同じなことから同曲の印象が強い。２枚組のアルバムとしてうれしいのは、アンコールまで完全収録ということである。特にキース･ジャレットファンとしては過去の名曲である「My Song」の選曲がうれしかったであろうことは、聴衆の反応からして瞭然である。常に即興演奏による新しい音楽を求めて来たジャレットの創造性と、過去の名作が交じり合うアルバムで、今後の動向が楽しみだ。

2006年9月リリース。予想に反して最初の出だしはまるで新ウィーン学派のピアノ曲のようだ。段々に今度はベーラ・バルトークのミクロコスモスのようになっていく。まるでクラシックのコンサートを聴いているような錯覚に落ち込む。2枚組のこのアルバム、最後へ行けば行くほど良くなる。限定盤『レインボー・ロータス』でしか聴けなかった『Paint My Heart Red』をやり始めたあたりから、これは随分サービスがいいなぁ、と思い始める。

そして次の『My Song』では出だしで観客が喜びの余り拍手をしてしまう。キースのライヴでは珍しい現象だ。ヤン・ガルバレクの氷の風のようなソプラノ・サックスでの名演はキースを聴く者の誰の胸にも渦巻いているモノなのだな、と思った。

キース・ジャレットも既に60歳。希有な才能も既に60歳だ。

僕は思う。こういう素晴らしい音楽を生み出す人たちと同じ時代を生き、ライヴを体感し、考え、生きてきたことがいかに幸せだったかと。

いつまでも怒濤のように鳴りやまない拍手。素晴らしすぎる演奏だ。(>_<)
