FLYは良いのわかってましたが、まさかここまでカップリング良いとは･･･。
個人的にエピゴーネンにやられました。これは本当に名曲。
メロトロンがアクセントになってすごい雰囲気を醸し出してます。
大脳機能日もノイズやシャウトが効いてて良い感じです。
一つのシングルでこんなに良い曲を聞けるのは本当に幸せです。

GRAPEVINE、カップリングにはずれなし。

イントロから大サビまでの「絶妙なアンバランスさ」が最高！です。
セッションから生まれたという曲らしい勢いも感じさせつつ、それ
でいておかしなところへは行きすぎないポップさが融合した一曲だ
と思います。
歌詞は「deracine」以降の「わかるようなわからないような」皮肉
さと田中さんの観念がまた混沌としています。実際には飛んでない
のにタイトルは「FLY」で、曲もラストになればなるほど飛翔感が
ある。なのに最後は「飛ばしてくれよ　ねえ」。絶妙。
カップリングは正直、聞けば聞くほど飽きてしまいました。
ただ、来年二月に出るシングルへの期待感と「FLY」一曲だけでも
僕には十分満点です。

　素晴らしいシングルです。収録された｢FLY｣｢エピゴーネン｣｢大脳機能日｣の３曲はそれぞれ順に、高揚感溢れるロックナンバー、彼らのキャリアの初期から定評のある聴かせるミディアムナンバー、ワイルドでグルーヴィーなロックンロール、とトーンの異なる曲でありながら高い完成度を誇っており、更に作品集として見事に共存しています。収録時間も長過ぎず短すぎない絶妙なところなので、シャッフル＆リピートで聴くのもオススメできます。
　
　加えて、今作でももちろん純文学に根差した田中氏の歌詞と初の共作曲を含む充実のソングライティングが堪能できます。この作品から彼らにエントリーするのも良いのではないかと思います。職人気質を感じられるアーティストなので、６０年代から７０年代前半のクラシックなロック・ポップスがお好きな方をはじめ、本格派をお探しの方にオススメします。
