オーストラリア出身のレトロ・ロッカーのジェット。この2枚目のフル・アルバムには"こいつらはいかした曲がかける!"とスリーヴに書いてあるが、彼らがより多くのそして質のいいレコード・コレクションを所有していることは言うまでもなく、ガレージ・ロックのライバルたちの大半を凌ぐバンドだと示している。『Shine On』には俺様的な部分があるが、ハンブル・パイ風の知的なブギー・ロック、同郷のAC/DCのように天井を突き破る能力、そしてローリング・ストーンズを彷彿とさせアメリカ人が我がものとしている俺様ロックを示している。ジェットはそこをむしろ気取らずにやっている。自分たちのやっていることが革新的に"新しい"という思いこみはこれっぽっちも見せていない。そもそも、曲名そのものにどこかで聞いたような響きがある。「Bring It on Back」、「Shine On」、「Rip It Up」、「Stand Up」。どれも聞き覚えがないだろうか? あるはずだ。肝心な点はロックバンドがプラトン的なロックンロールの理想を持ち込むと、実際にすべてがうまく機能することがある点だ。ジェットはこれをやってのけて、彼らがあたかもオリジナルであるようなサウンドを聞かせ、彼らが拝借した人々と同じようにエキサイティングなものとなっている。--Mike McGonigal

充実したセカンドを発表したミリオンデビュー組（キーン.カサビアン.キラーズ）の最後を飾る ジェット。
彼らのセカンドも他に負けず すばらしいものになった。
「Are You〜」のような勢いある名曲はないが 今作はバラードの名曲「Shine On」がある
これが今作を象徴しており バラードやミドルテンポの曲が充実している。
まさに 地に足が着いた傑作である　こういった作品が作れることは後の10年に繋げられる。
輸入盤は「All You Have to Do」で締めているが 日本盤はボーナストラックがはいっており
1曲目の始まりの「All You 〜」の寂びから始まる意味が損なわれてしまう。
一つの作品として ぜひ 輸入盤をお勧めします。

ガレージロックに磨きがかかり、すでに完成されたロックンロールへと変貌を遂げたアルバムです。
ロックチューンだけにとどまらず、6キングスホーシズ・7シャインオン・12シャイニーマガジンと珠玉のメロディナンバーに、11スキンアンドボーンズに代表されるようにポップス的サウンドを加えたこのアルバムは爽快かつノスタルジックです!
紛れもなく私の中で、最高の傑作アルバムです。

ニューカマー・バンドの中では一番期待出来るバンド。
「1stよりは落ち着いてる」という意見も聞くけど、これも結構クールで期待通り。
StonesやAC/DCなどの要素も入ってるという。サウンドは1stよりも全然渋い。
オススメは#8『SHINE ON』。JETの中で一番キレイな曲だと思う。感動してしまった。
比較的キャッチーな歌詞は、#8『SHINE ON』。日本盤ではボーナストラックの『Hold On』がいい。
