全体に落ち着いたナンバーとなっていますが、歌詞がとても秀逸です。
本当にTAKUROの作詞作曲の腕前には毎度感心させられます。
私が日頃から抱いている疑問や不安等にビシリと答えてくれ、そして誰もが心の
どこかで抱いた事のあるような淡い思いや懐かしい記憶といったものを
曲として聴き手に訴える技術を持ったライターとして
TAKUROの右に出る者はいないといっていいでしょう。
TERUの声も、高音もそうですが、あの低音域でのハスキーボイスは
聞き惚れるほど上手で、歌詞の持ち味を遺憾無く引き立てています。
今回TERUが作詞作曲を手掛けた曲も収録されていますので嬉しいところ。
一年数カ月振りにシングルをリリースし、コラボ、そして今回の夏音と立て続けに
良曲をリリースし、復活早々好調なスタートを切ったGLAY。
今後の活躍に大いに期待出来ます。

この曲の評価としては個人的に最初に聴いた時はGLAYのバラードとしては切なさ、ノスタルジックさ（うちの母親が好きそう・・・）が感じられ、GLAYが得意とするストリングスとの調和も繊細で歌詞は叙情的なストレートな詩でまさに過ぎ去った夏を汲むことができる壮大なバラードかと思います。でも歌詞を聴いていて気分によっては恥ずかしくなるくらいだな。でもそこがまたいいのかもしれない。大切な人を失った時のことを考えて聴いているとストレートさが伝わり、マジで切ない。社会には偏見、猜疑といったものがまとわりついていると思いますが、人は本来慈しみを忘れてはならないことを謳い続けているGLAY。この曲を聴いてさらに彼らの信念の剛胆さが感じられますね。

夏音に限ったことではないんですがＧＬＡＹの奏でる曲ってどこか「暖かさ」があるんですよね。

それはロックをやってもポップをやってもバラードをやっても。

それが何年もファンから愛されてる理由なんじゃないでしょうか。

心に響きます。
