アルバム「Dance With My Father」を残し、突然脳卒中で倒れ亡くなってしまったLuther Vandrossのベスト。
ちなみにかつてベスト盤がリリースされていましたが、今回はアルバム「Luther Vandross」、「Dance With My Father」の収録曲も網羅されたすばらしい内容になっていると個人的に思います。
おそらくシングルカットされていない「Buy Me A Rose」や「Think About You」が収録されているのも、ファンとしてはすごくうれしい！

もちろん「Dance With My Father」も収録、彼が幼い頃に亡くなった父親の思い出をふりしぼって書いた曲らしいが、まさかその曲がリリースされた直後、父と同じ場所に旅立ってしまうとは…

初出しである「Shine」を聞いてもやはり、もっと彼の声を聴いていたかったと思います。渋くて、クールで、それでいて優しかったあの声をもっと聴いていたかった。個人的には彼のフォルセットも大好き。

ちなみに、下の方も書かれていますがこの輸入盤は2枚組みでRemixを数曲収録。日本盤は9月に発売予定ですが、いまのところボーナストラック収録とは銘記されているものの、このボーナスCDが付くかどうかは不明、僕もこちらをお勧めします。

R&Bファンなら一家に一枚の価値ありですぞ！

突然リリースされた亡きルーサー・ヴァンドロスのベスト盤です。このベスト盤の話題は何と言っても未発表曲である「Shine」に尽きます！
この１曲だけで買い！星5つ！です。
曲を書いたのはジェームズ・ハリス3、テリー・ルイス、そしてChicの「My Forbidden Lover」をサンプリング。
おまけにプロデューサーがジミー・ジャム＆テリー・ルイス。この布陣を聞いただけでも個人的には「買い」だと思います。
ちなみにこのベスト盤、「Shine」のリミックスを含んだリミックス7曲をボーナスディスクとした2枚組と通常版の1枚モノと2種類リリースされていますが、
当然2枚組のほうをオススメします。
ほんとどうして亡くなっちゃったんでしょうね、ルーサー…

ルーサーのベスト2を持っていて このCDを買ったんだが…アルバムの選曲が良くないと思いました。しかし シャインは名曲でリミックスも収録されている二枚組で リミックスが 7曲は魅力的です。
の内 聞けるのは 3曲で 他は ダンスと言えどクラシックポップス ん〜難しいかも
