ゆったりとしていて、深みがある。
円熟味といっては陳腐かもしれないが、60代も半ばを過ぎたディランが、音楽にじつに自然に向き合う様子が見てとれる。ソングライティング、演奏、歌唱、どれをとっても今のディランにしかつくれないアルバム。
これはディランのキャリアを通して、代表作の１枚に数えられるアルバムだろう。
聴いていると、うきうきしてくる。ゆったりとする。癒される。元気になれる。優しい気持ちになれる。いずれにしてもいい気分であるには違いないのだが、なぜか胸が熱くなって、鼻がつんとなってしまった。素晴らしい。

最近のディランに顕著なことだと思いますが、とても安心して聞けます。ヴァラエティに富んだ「ラヴ・アンド・セフト」をそのまま踏襲していると言ってしまえば、その表現が一番しっくりくる気がします。楽曲も歌い方もなにかをなぞるような自然さです。ただ、その分、これまで（って、いつまでだ？）のディランにいやというほど味わわされた「なんで？」という、不本意な意外さを楽しんでいた向きには物足りないかもしれません。でも、期待を裏切ると言えば言葉はいいですが、「エンパイア・バーレスク」（あのアレンジ！）のように、この先も楽しむことはないだろうという失望感に呆然することも多かったので、これは歓迎すべきことかもしれませんね。４曲目なんか「ジョージア・オン・マイ・マインド」のような曲調に、クラプトンのような歌い方、巷を静かににぎわせるチョィ悪オヤジならぬチョィ枯れオヤジを目指しているのでしょうか。おまけ（？）のＤＶＤも既発のものばかりですが、「ブラッド・」のフレンドリーさ加減も、ポール・マッカートニーの「プレス」のプロモを思い出しました（たぶん見てないと思いますが）。いろいろ書きましたが、素直にとても嬉しいです。五年待った甲斐がありました。

ディランの最新作。
とても素晴らしい作品です。
今時の音楽にありがちな押し付けがましい自己主張はなく、
ありのままのディラン、アメリカの良き音楽といった風情。

個人的には、WorkingMan Blues #2、When the Deal Gose Down、Nettie Moore がお勧めです。
ディランの歌う優しいメロディー、前の２作品も含めとても気に入っています。

蛇足ながら、Rollin And Tumblin。
古くからあるブルースだと思いますが、ディラン、ジェフベック好きなのかな、とファンの妄想。

ともあれ、一日の終わりにゆっくりと聞きたい、最高の佳品です。
