2. テルーの唄

映画「ゲド戦記」に楽曲を提供する等、作家としても活発な活動をしている谷山浩子。今作は、手嶌 葵に提供した「テルーの唄」と「ゲド戦記歌集」に収録された「数え唄」「竜」「空の終点」「旅人」の谷山浩子ヴァージョンを収録。また、昨年の公演で好評を博した「アタゴオルは猫の森」からの楽曲、森山良子に提供した「ポプラポプラ(1992年発表)」のセルフ・カヴァー等、バラエティに富んだ内容になっています。

【谷山浩子さんのコメント】
新しいアルバム、自分でもかなりのお気に入りです!ぜひ聴いてやってくださいね。
タイトルは、内容のわかりやすいダイジェストになってます。「テルー(ゲド戦記関連の歌)と猫(アタゴオル関連の歌)とベートーヴェン(それ以外の歌)」が入ってますよ、という。
ちなみに裏タイトルは「竜頭蛇尾」…自分で言ってるだけですが。「竜」で始まってパイソン(ニシキヘビ)で終わるから。
内容的にも「ジャ~ン」って感じで始まって「…は?」って感じに終わるので、とっても竜頭蛇尾です。できれば通して聴いて、竜から蛇への脱力感を楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

【アーティストについて】
現在までに30枚以上のアルバムを発表。その独自性の高い音楽は根強いファンを獲得。NHK「みんなのうた」「いないいないばあ!」などのTV番組やCF、他アーティストへの楽曲提供など、各メディアでの活動も著しい。またオールナイトニッポンをはじめとするラジオ番組のパーソナリティ、童話、エッセイの執筆など、その活動範囲はますます拡大している。2002年には音楽生活30周年を迎え、2006年夏公開の映画「ゲド戦記」(スタジオジブリ/宮崎吾朗第一回監督作品)においては、挿入歌「テルーの唄」の作曲を行う。またスタジオジブリ・プロデュース「ゲド戦記歌集」(歌:手嶌 葵)では9曲の楽曲提供を行っている。

‘月光シアター’に続き、イベント関連の曲を中心にすえたアルバム。こりゃもう一枚作って３部作にして欲しい。来年はどっか外人の大物歌手から２、３曲注文こないかしら？　楽曲は今回も傑作しか入っていない。　吾郎の詩はこれでいいのか？　‘水晶散歩’が収録されていないのは？　斉藤ネコさんのヴァイオリンがないのは？　など無いものねだりをつぎつぎ感じるぐらい傾聴させられた。ところで、今回のＣＤのアタゴオル関連曲のアレンジはＤＶＤで聴けるものとほぼ同じ？で、あの舞台でのＡＱさんの仕事は本当に完成度が高かったのだと改めて思った。リコーダーも吹いてるが、すごく上手く聞こえる。ブリュッヘンかと思いました。ＡＱさん、きっと谷山さんに添いとげてくださいね。

「ゲド戦記歌集」の歌を、どうしても浩子さんの声で聞きたかったので、これは嬉しい。
「竜」と「テルーの唄」、どちらかというと、歌集の編集の方が好みでした。ただ、音を間違えたりしないし、歌の強弱のつけ方もさすが浩子さん！！安心して聞けます。
惜しいのは「ナナカマド」が収録されていないこと。
「ゲド戦記歌集」で一番浩子さんの声で聞きたかったのがこの歌だったので、是非次回のアルバムに収録いただきたいです。
本アルバム一番のお勧めは、「人生は一本の長い煙草のようなもの」。
とても浩子さんらしい、とても美しい曲です。
浩子さんの音楽は楽しさ、恐さ、美しさ、色々な旋律があるのですが、中でも私が一番好きなのはこういう美しい曲。
主旋律の音の流れがとても心地よく、うっとりしてしまいますよ♪

「アタゴオルは猫の森」の中の名曲・迷曲、「紅まぐろ」と「テルーの唄」の取り合わせが、楽しそうですね。手嶌さんの「テルーの唄」との聞き比べも楽しそうです。まぜこぜの曲の集め方、ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑとしての統一がどうかも興味のもてる選曲です。
