つい先日見たばかりです。
気持ち良い位綺麗に騙されました。
とても良質な映画だと思います。
言い尽くされた感がありますが、
エドワード・ノートンの演技が素晴らしい。

惜しむべくは、ノートンがこれ程有名になる前に観たかった、という点。
何かあるんじゃないかと疑って（期待して？）観てしまうんですよね。
そうでなければもっと衝撃を受けてただろうなぁ。

作品に関しては★★★★★。
ただし残念なのは仕様部分。
今どき字幕のオンオフができないなんて……。
おまけに日本語字幕は文字が小さすぎて読みにくく、
逆に英語字幕は中途半端に大きく、シーンによっては画面の中央に文字がくる場合も。
正直センスのない字幕のおかげで映画に集中できず
見終わったあともこれ以上ないという脱力感………。
メーカーさんも少しは作品に対して愛情を持って世に出して欲しい。
せっかくの名作がこれでは台なしです。

私は劇場で公開されたときに観たのですが、
公開当時、現実世界の事件や小説のネタで、類似の題材を
扱ったものが出てきた頃だったので、完全にだまされました。

ネタバレしないように気を使いつつ。。。

主演のベイル(リチャードギア)は元検察、今は弁護士という役どころ。
「事実は関係ない。俺が陪審員の頭の中に作る幻想が事実だ」
とばかりに豪語する一見自信家の敏腕弁護士という設定。

地域の名士でもある大司教が殺害されることで話が始まり、
容疑者の少年アーロンが事件後すぐさま捕まる。
どっからどう見ても有罪確定の被告を弁護するために
ベイルが無償で弁護を名乗り出る。

裁判と平行して調査をすすめる検察サイドと弁護士サイド。
最初は少年がやったと思っているふしのあるベイルなんだが、
少年と話すうち、次第に無罪だと信じるようになり、
少年の示唆する第三者の存在を探し始めるようになる。

その第三者の影を追うギア達(?)の前に意外な容疑者が…

そして真容疑者の存在をめぐって法廷で最後の尋問が…

めでたしめでたし??…

三度にわたり背筋が凍りつきました。
オススメできる傑作です。
