前作『トップをねらえ！』の２枚のサントラが、アニメ作品のサントラとしては極めて異色な制作スタイルを採用していて、当時の私に妙なトラウマを残す位の衝撃を与えてくれた内容だっただけに（『響綜覧』は正直やり過ぎと感じられましたが…）、この『２』のサントラにも実は妙な期待をしてしまっていましたが、残念ながら（と言っていいのか…）アレほどのはっちゃけ具合は全くなく、ごく普通のサウンドトラックとなっています。ただ、作曲者の田中公平氏がインタビューの中で語っている通り、メロディの強いＢＧＭ（実はこれ、時代遅れなのだそうです）が揃っていますので、聴いていて楽しい音楽集となっているとは思います。
アニメ本編を見ている時は、絵柄やストーリーラインがあまりにも前作とは異なっているのに対して、音楽面では結構前作の色を残しているなぁという印象を持っていましたが、サントラとして音楽のみをまとめて聴いてみると、充分に『２』オリジナルの色も出ていると思いました。
確かに前作っぽい楽曲も目立つのですが、柔らかめの美しいメロディラインを持つ曲（特にＭ−３は曲の質、使用された場面共にお気に入りです。Ｍ−１、Ｍ−８、Ｍ−６３なども印象的）も多く、『２』として新たに構築し直された世界観を楽しむことが出来るＢＧＭ集ですね。また、そんな中にもＭ−１２、Ｍ−２５、Ｍ−４３の様に、前作ファンにとっては実に感慨深い、もしくは「ニヤリ」としてしまう様な楽曲も含まれており、ファンを喜ばせるツボをちゃんと心得たＢＧＭが揃っていると言うのが感想ですね。
Ｐ.Ｓ.ＯＰ曲『Groovin' Magic』とＥＤ曲『星屑涙』をはじめてフルコーラスで聴きましたが、予想以上に印象的な楽曲でビックリしています。特にアニメでは使用されていない３コーラス目の転調がどちらの楽曲においても非常に特徴的になっていますので、是非御一聴されることをお薦めします。

まあなんというか星屑涙は良い歌ですね。


OPも良いですが。
曲数も激しく多くガンバスターマーチも７号登場シーンを思い出すので大変良いです。
トップ２ファンは買って損は無いのではないでしょうか。
なぜならば…

この作品の為に書き起こされた美しい曲が、「トップをねらえ!」の数々の名シーンで使われた懐かしい曲とお互いに絡み合う様に流れる曲の数々は、新しくて、懐かしく、そしてどこか優しい気持ちにさせてくれます。ファンの方は是非お聴きになっては如何でしょうか？
それぞれの曲を長く聴いていたい感じがしましたので、★四つです。
