期待していたGTRの再発だけに胸を膨らませて聴いてみた。おや?音圧が低い。。他のアーティストのリマスタ盤より明らかに低い。ちゃんとリマスタしたの?‥これは仕様なのか、ちょっとがっかり。楽器の分離度はまずまず。内袋に印刷されている歌詞が小さすぎて虫眼鏡でもないと読めない。。ほかに同梱されているのは紙ぺら1枚のライナーノーツだけ、歌詞も対訳もなし。軒並み2000円以下の紙ジャケが出回ってる中、この値段をとっておいてこれはないでしょう。。WHDエンタテインメントの会社概要見て‥ホリプロ絡みかぁ‥ここの会社の紙ジャケを買うことはもうないでしょう。

ギターにスティーブ・ハウ（イエス/エイジア）とスティーブ・ハケット（ジェネシス）という２人の腕利きを揃えたバンド。後にも先にもこれ１枚しか残さなかったが、それだけに非常に聴き応えのあるものに仕上がっている。

プロデュースがジェフリー・ダウンズなのでエイジア臭さは否めないものの、やはりベテラン２人を従えての作品だけあって味わいがあります。
他のメンバーは皆若く、ボーカルのマックス・ベーコンは伸びのある艶やかな歌声を聴かせてくれ、将来を非常に期待させてくれる逸材です。

発売当初は詰まらなさを感じましたが、今になって聴いてみると傑作だったんだなぁと思わせるアルバムです。

９８６年リリースのスーパープログレッシヴポップバンド（笑）のファーストにしてラストアルバム・・・スティーヴハウ（エイジア・イエス）とスティーヴハケット（ジェネシス）がまさかバンドを組むなんて思いませんでした。他メンバーの経歴も凄くて、マックスベーコン（Ｖｏ）／ブロンズ・フィルスポルディング（Ｂ）／トーヤ・ジョナサンムーヴァー（Ｄｒ）／マリリオンとプログレ系の強者で構成されています・・・でも出てきたサウンドがポップで当時驚きました！！（エイジアに近いアプローチですね。）ギタリスト２人はどちらもトップバンドに在籍していたので、エゴがぶつかりそうな印象がありましたが（大人だったのか）お互いのパートを補う緻密なサウンドを作りだしています。本当プロフェッシ!!ョナルな音で素晴らしいです！！マックスベーコンの張りがあってのびやかなボーカルが本当気持ちいい・・・曲が格段に良くなっている印象を受けました。個人的には７曲目「リーチアウト」の緻密な計算の上に成り立っている変拍子ポップな曲に、彼らの凄さを垣間見ました・・・この曲の展開は本当凄い、巧いよなあ！！イエス・ジェネシス・エイジアファンは必聴のアルバムです。
