このアルバムは私がはじめて手にしたスガシカオのCDです。
シングル、19才がほしいと思いましたがなかなか手が出せず･･･
あることをきっかけに、PARADEを買いました。

ファン暦が長い人からは、スガシカオさんのCDの中でこれは異例だ、と聞きます。

私もPARADE以前のシカオソングを聴いていくうちに、そう思い始めました。


ですが、PARADEの中でも19才はスガシカオ臭（･･･）が強いので、
19才や38分16秒が気に入った方は、ぜひぜひThank you を聴き、シカオワールドに引き込まれてほしいです！

スガシカオさんとはもう10年ファンです!初めて聴いた、愛について、でコレだと思って今になります。このアルバムは全体的にアップテンポなファンクが広がり、中にしっとり切ない夏陰、センチで夜な7月7日、そしてハウステンポのノリノリなタイトル曲、そして思い浮かびそうで浮かばない、ごもっともな歌詞のプログレスと、爽快感と憂欝感のスレッスレのスガワールドまたまた見参ってな感じで、へビーローテーションです!!!

暑い日にふと涼しい風が吹いた夏の情景が目に浮かぶ、爽やか風味の強いアルバムです。特に１〜５曲目までの流れが素晴らしいです。
初期の「clover」「FAMILY」「Sweet」も聞きましたが、傾向が大分変わったなと感じました。Popで爽やかになったと言うだけでなく、より「音楽的」になったなぁという印象があります。
初期の作品では、スガシカオが奏でた音楽は「何か得体の知れないもの」として私の耳に、感覚に入ってきていたのです。そしてその不穏な、または美しい「何か」に酔っていました。
しかし「PARADE」は音楽は音楽として直接感覚に届き、そのメロディやリズムやグルーヴで私を揺らします。
大抵こういったどちらかの特性を持つミュージシャンというのはその性質のままなのですが、スガシカオのように変化していった人物は彼が初めてです。
賛否両論がありますが、少なくとも以前のスガシカオよりつまらない音楽になったとは思いません。
