最近、矢野沙織や平賀マリカ等
ピアニスト以外にも日本の女性プレイヤーをアメリカのスタープレイヤーで固めて売る出してるのをよく見かける。
この市原ひかりのアルバムもそんなアルバムの一つだ。
実力があればすばらしいアルバムになる可能性もあるがそうでない場合酷いものになってしまう。
正直彼女には荷が重かったと思う。一曲目からしてGrant Stewartとでは大人と子供ぐらいの違いがある。
テクニックではなく、ジャズ力とでも言ったらいいだろうか。三曲目の『Blue Prelude』を聴いたらすぐにわかる。
Dominick Farinacciとツートランペットでフロントを取るがFarinacciのミュートトランペットが一音出ただけで
彼女の存在が掻き消されてしまう。これをやらせるレコード会社もレコード会社だ。
これだけ存在感の無いトランペットもめずらしい。リップコントロールに集中しすぎてるのか
彼女のトランペットには何ものってない。まるで練習を聴いてるよう。
Kenny DorhamやBlue Mitchelも控えめなトランペッターであるがここでは一緒にしてはいけない。

ゲストTpにドミニクを迎えているところは豪華なのかな？と思います。
演奏のほうは耳にすっと入ってくるのはいいのですが、印象が薄くて残らないのです・・・。
もうちょっとちゃんと聴いたらまた変わってくるかも知れませんが。

個人的にはTpを吹いている曲よりもフリューゲルを吹いている曲のほうが聴き応えがありました。
私は２曲目のFragileという曲が好きです。

アルバムタイトルとなっているSara Smileもいいと思います。
アレンジはドミニクが担当したようです。

前作のイメージがまだ強いので今回のは普通といったところで。
前作と今回のどちらがいいですか？と聴かれたら私は前作のほうが好きです。

いやはやすごい才能のﾄﾗﾝﾍﾟｯﾀｰが出てきたものだ。市原ひかりの２ndｱﾙﾊﾞﾑはﾆｭｰﾖｰｸ録音。ﾆｭｰﾖｰｸの名うてのﾐｭ−ｼﾞｼｬﾝ（Dr:ﾙｲｽ･ﾅｯｼｭ　B:ﾋﾟｰﾀｰ･ﾜｼﾝﾄﾝ　P：ｱﾀﾞﾑ･ﾊﾞｰﾝﾊﾞｳﾑ　Sax:ｸﾞﾗﾝﾄ･ｽﾁｭｱｰﾄ　Tp:ﾄﾞﾐﾆｸ･ﾌｧﾘﾅｯﾁ）と完全に対等に渡り合っている。なんと言っても音色が素晴らしい。ﾄﾗﾝﾍﾟｯﾄ、ﾌﾘｭｰｹﾞﾙﾎｰﾝともに、特に中低音が実に太い、いい音している。きっちりとｸﾗｼｯｸの基礎を学んだに違いない彼女の演奏は、吹奏楽からｼﾞｬｽﾞに興味を持ち始めた若者たちのお手本として申し分のないものになるであろう。それだけではなくｼﾞｬｽﾞにうるさい親父たちをもうならせるに違いないｱﾄﾞﾘﾌﾞのﾒﾛﾃﾞｨｱｽなﾌﾚｰｽﾞも見逃せない。実に心地よい音の流れがある。
そして彼女自身がｱﾚﾝｼﾞした曲が９曲中５曲だという。うーん。これもすごい。

選曲はｼﾞｬｽﾞのｽﾀﾝﾀﾞｰﾄﾞ（ｸﾚｵﾊﾟﾄﾗの夢,It could happen to youなど)からﾎﾟｯﾌﾟｽのﾋｯﾄ曲（Fragile,Sara Smile,Close to youなど）そして彼女の作曲によるｵﾘｼﾞﾅﾙ曲など実にﾊﾞﾗｴﾃｨに富んでいる。

ｽｲﾝｸﾞｼﾞｬｰﾅﾙ誌のｺﾞｰﾙﾄﾞﾃﾞｭｽｸ獲得もうなずける納得のｱﾙﾊﾞﾑである。
