前回の『ハナミズキ』と同様に、本人が自分には合うはずと自信を持って決めた曲だけに、『雪の華』は最高です! まるでオリジナルの様に徳永さんの世界感が感じられます。『M』はちょっと意外な選曲でした。このアルバムでVOCALISTとしての実力が再証明されたと思います。

過去の名曲の数々は、まだまだ色んな顔を持っている言うと事が
実感できます。
徳永英明さんに出会って、新しい顔が発見出来ました。
最近のアルバムの中では、ベスト１です。
男の色気がたっぷりの徳永ボイスに浸れます。

自分の得意なスタイルで歌えば、その人なりの色はつくものだが、あえて原曲本来のメロディと譜割で歌っており、前作同様、ボーカリスト徳永英明としての実力を存分に発揮している。現時代の男性ボーカリストとして、「特別なアレンジなし」で「ただ歌う」だけで、それができるのは、この人と小田和正くらいだろう。
VOCALISTとは、作詞家、作曲家が描いた世界を、自分のフィルターを通して表現できる歌手である。徳永英明がその曲をどのように解釈し、どのように表現しようとしているかということに、思いを馳せながら聴いてみると、原曲と非常に似た感じに聴こえるもの、原曲と全く違って聴こえるものの差があることが分かると思う。年を重ね、様々な苦労を乗り越えたものだからこそ、表現できる世界を存分に堪能したい。
