オリジナルの「〜ミカ・バンド」から「〜Yuming・バンド」「〜カレン・バンド」「〜ミカエラ・バンド」と聞いてきましたが、
この「サディスティック・カレン・バンド」が一番好きです。特に「タイムマシンにお願い」に関してはダントツです（もちろん個人的感想ですが）。
桐島カレンの「ノリ」と「イッちゃった感じ」が他の追従（？）を許してません。またバンド全体としても一番ノッていると感じます。
Yuming・バンドは完全に別のノリですし、ミカエラ・バンドではすっかりおとなしくなってしまって、
「みんなおじさんになっちゃったのね」という感じです。（実際に歳月は経ってますが・・・）
ということで、このカレン・バンドをより満喫するには「天晴」よりもこの「晴天（ライブ）」です。
さらに云えばCDではなく映像で観る方がBetterです。（DVD出てるのかな？LDでは出てたけど）
桐島カレンのヴォーカルを「もっといろいろと聞いて（見て）みたかった」と思わせる１枚です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 秀逸なライブ盤。そして再生YMOへと続く。, 2006/8/26
この再結成ライブは当時ビデオとLDでも出ていて、私はまずそれを観た。高橋幸宏と小原礼の声にしびれ、桐島かれんの堂々としたパフォーマンスに感心した。若干収録曲が異なるCD盤もいい仕上がりで、ブックレットの意表をつくレイアウトも当時としては目新しかった。スタジオアルバム1枚のみ、2日だけのコンサート、そしてライブ盤発売という｢お祭り｣気分重視のスケジュール組みは同じく東芝EMIの元で行われたYMO再生プロジェクト(92-93年)でも使われる。その点からも高橋幸宏の存在感の大きさを察するのは気の回しすぎか。彼のバランス感覚とポップ度は両バンドの成功の最大の要因であったと思う。

いろいろ評価するポイントがそれぞれ違うんだと思いますが、この２期目のサディスティック・ミカ・バンドもそれなりに気に入っている。私はやはり加藤和彦のちょっと斜交いに構えたユーモアと洒落たサウンドと企画力とその時の世界の音楽シーンを上手に捕らえた先見性を高く評価しているのでこれもその才能があふれていると思っている。「桐島かれん」もその後は歌手としては大成しなかった（他の才能が開花されてますが）けれど、この時はそれなりに雰囲気が出ていい感じである。今回のミカエラ・バンドを聞いて同時にこれもよく聞いている。
