他の方々の評価がすっごく低いので驚きですが、僕はいまでもよく聞いております。曲がいいものが多いです。僕はマツダの宣伝の歌はあんまり好きではなく、「ダシル・ハメット・・・」「４２℃・・・」「プラズマ・・・」の方が好みですね。桐島かれん・・・評価が分かれるところです。でも今（２００９年）から考えたら面白い選択であったように思います。突飛性という意味では福井ミカさんのボーカルの時も結構突飛だったわけで同じようなものだと思ってます。繰り返しになりますがそんなに悪くないですよ。出来は一流です。

　89年再結成時の作品。この前に85年の国立競技場での『オール・トゥゲザー・ナウ』に出演した「サディスティック・ユーミン・バンド」もあったが、ちょうどこの前年にソロ・アルバムを出した小原礼が主導した再結成で、メンバーは１ｓｔ制作時のラインナップである。しかしさすがに福井ミカは参加せず、代わりに桐島かれんである。
　しかし80年代も押し詰まったこの時期、メンバーの状況は様々だった。加藤和彦はリーダーのはずだがリードしないフワフワした立場で、高橋幸宏は神経症がピークに達した時期、高中正義はマイアミ・サウンドマシーンらとの共演を経たトロピカル頂点期で、もともと雑多な集合体のミカ・バンドはもはや集合体とも言えない、それぞれ名を上げたメンバー達によるオムニバス編集のような仕上がりである。かれんの参加は青天の霹靂だが、良くも悪くも80年代末的な係わり方で、無責任？な存在である。音楽の共通点はクリックがしっかり走っていることで、皮肉にもYMOによって広まったレコーディング・テクニックによって逆にスクエアに縛り付けられている感じである。かつてのミカ・バンドの傑作群と比較して色を感じないのは細かく制御されたためだろうと思う。
　伝説が必要以上に増幅され、突然実現した再結成であったがこの時期にやらなければならない必要性はなかった。80年代的な音楽の集大成に聞こえなくもないがこの時期に地球の裏側でリリースされたソウル・トゥ・ソウルの出現によって、リズムの概念が変わりヒップポップ的手法が天下を取ることになる90年代に於いては、この作品は見向きもされなくなった。ミカ・バンドの作品で唯一「時代遅れ」になった作品と言えよう。

　ミカバンドの再結成の時のオリジナルアルバム。YMOから始まったテクノ、コンピューターミュージック（ふるー）の残滓がまだ残る時代の雰囲気を良く残していますが、正直、それだけという感じ。
　マツダの新型ファミリアの宣伝に使われた一曲目は頭に残りますが、やはり曲調は他のものと変わりません。
　実験とテクニックにあふれた「黒船」などの真性ミカバンドのアルバムに比べると薄っぺらさだけが残るアルバムです、残念ながら。
