オリジナル発売は‘７３年である。　「はっぴぃえんど」がアメリカのウエストコースト・サウンドに、日本語を乗せた最初のロックグル−プとして、名作「風街ろまん」の評価と共に日本ロック史に常に取り上げられるのだが、忘れてもらっては困るのが、このミカバンドのデヴューアルバムである。
　音はもろブリティッシュ、ロンドンである。殆どの詞を作詞家の松山猛が書き、リーダーの加藤和彦が作曲しているが、「はっぴぃえんど」がわざと日本語のアクセントを無視して曲に乗せているのに対して、全くストレートに、詞の一字一句が音符にあっている。だから歌の内容（銀河をイメージした統一感のある詞）とヴォーカルが素直に心に入ってくる。
　それに加えて特筆すべきはメンバーの演奏技術の高さだ。いくら音楽センス抜群の加藤でも、そのイメージを具体化するには強力なメンバーが必要だった。当時、殆ど無名だったメンバー（高橋ユキヒロ、２０歳！）のその後の活躍を見るにつけ、加藤のメンバー・チョイスのセンスは先見の明があった。　ミカのキャッチーなボーカルと存在もこのバンドを象徴している。
　サテンのスーツにフライングＶのギター、グラム、ブギのリフ、ファンクなリズム・・・３３年後の今聴いても、全く古さを感じさせない。２ndの「黒船」の高い評価はよく耳にするが、この1stの“センス”はもっと再評価されてもいい。「アロハ」のジャケットですぞ！

　忽然と姿を現した、名盤。どうしてこんなことが可能だったのか分からないが、同時期の海外のレコードと比べても違和感がない。日本の趣味人の粋を集めると、こんなことが可能になるのだ。その意味で加藤和彦はフィクサーとして、真に偉大であったと言わざるを得ない。
　内容は多岐に渡る。ミッチェル・フルームが得意そうなゲート・ドラムは出て来る、結果的にレゲエとも違う不可思議なリズム、ギルバート・オサリヴァン的な旋律を奏でるシンセサイザー、ほとんどローリング・ストーンズなギター・リフなど。参加メンバーも多彩で、後の正式メンバーになる今井裕や何と小田和正も参加している。
　当時東芝は半信半疑でリリースしたが、結果的に口伝で評判が海外にも及び、NME紙では「トランジスタで育った子供たちから、思いもよらぬ実験的な音が出てきた」と評された。この作品によってロンドンのミュージシャンの間にも噂が広まり、クリス・トーマスが動いた。それだけの力を持つ、時代を越えた作品。

最初期の録音になるつのだひろのドラム＆高中正義のちょっと前ノリのベースというコンビの「ダンス・ハ・スンダ」と
「サイクリング・ブギ」の２曲に聴かれるストレートなノリのロック、そして正式に小原礼が参加、ドラムも高橋幸宏にチェンジ、
これによってサウンドの核にＲ＆Ｂテイストが加味されたスタイルに変化しているのが面白い。
特に高橋幸宏のドラムがロジャー・ホーキンスを思わせる叩きっぷりを聴かせてくれる「怪傑シルバー・チャイルド」や
「銀河列車」がそうした変化を端的に表していると思う。
こうしたメンバーを一本の線に繋いでいるのが加藤和彦の遊び心、軟派に見えて芯がある、それでいながら脆さもあって、
しかしながら良い意味で貪欲。

表面的には当然ポップスなのですが、実は今の日本人が失ってしまった気骨が存分に表現されている。
面白い。
