この惑星の演奏は新しい。そして素晴らしい。このCDはクラシック音楽と言うより21世紀の新しい「惑星」と言った演奏である。
演奏に派手さを期待すると、多少がっかりするかもしれない。
しかし、全体を通して精密な演奏でかつ、冥王星も加えて全曲で宇宙を旅しているような気分になれるこのCDは必聴である。
また2枚目の小惑星の曲もそれぞれ面白い。
是非このCDで新しい「惑星」の魅力を発見し、広大な宇宙を旅して
頂きたい。

　ポピュラー音楽になった「木星」から興味を持って、この本家版？、しかも冥王星、小惑星付という「お得感」に惹かれて購入した底の浅いクラシックファンである。
　演奏、録音とも現代的でそつのないものに仕上がっていると感じる。ただライヴ録音の好き嫌いはあると思う。録音技術の進歩でクリアになった分迫力がないような気もするのは間違い？

　付け加えられた他の作曲家の作品は、当たり前だがホルストの世界とはまったく異なるもの。まるで面白みのない映画音楽…
　惑星のメロディーを聴きたいだけの方は廉価盤で充分だと思う。

添付の解説書の内容も、とても読み応えあります。
以前から持っていたほうの惑星は、解説文の分量が少なめでしたので、特に作曲者について今回初めて知った内容もあり、私にとっては新鮮でした。音の方も、じっくり聴き込むほど発見のある演奏だと思います。海王星の最後であそこまで完璧に終わらせていたものを、よくまあ上手に冥王星につなげたものだと感心致しました。
